according to the BBC, Everton have confirmed that they have received investment from ex Arsenal stakeholder Farhad Moshiri who promises to bring major investment.

Great, that's all we need. Another doped up oil baron throwing money about in a bid to cheat their way to the top.

Don't care what anyone says, any success as a result of that is totally meaningless.

As many clubs have proven this season, money does not guarantee success also it could easily go the other way and they could really fuck things up.

Nora full takeover is it, think he's taken a 49% stake. Also were owned by an even wealthier Billionaire, just because an owner has money, doesn't mean they're willing to plow it into the club.

Let's hope the major investment is a state of the art £500m stadium project which takes 15years to get off the ground!!

I don't think he's an Abramovic or Sheik Monsour type owner, more someone who spotted they were undervalued, and he can invest a relatively small amount with the hope of them increasing in value, before selling and making a nice tidy profit - which was Randy Lerner's plan...

Don't think he's going to to do anything to make Everton serious contenders - can't see that happening for a long time, if ever.

I doubt he'll put much into Everton, probably hoping his purchase value triples in price due to club values skyrocketing due to all the TV money.

His Arsenal shares were bought by Usmanov.

I don't know what impact that will on them too. I think they are just in it for the dividends.

I think his "major investment into the club" is going to be building a new stadium or re-fitting their current one (since Goodison is just as old as the Lane I think it will be a new one), just like us really.

Hope they don't become anothe Man City or Chelsea, though from what people are saying that's not going to be the case. I never disliked man city until they got the cheat codes for football manager, but now I despise them. Every victory for them is meaningless to me, and every defeat they suffer is hilarious. Same with Chelsea.

Don't want to have to hate Everton as well now.

Well he's said his major investment is spending at least 100 million in the summer on players.

So there you go, another artifical club to compete with

Another season without European football means the only players they will attract will be over-valued English players.
And they're going to be needing to replace Barkley and Stones anyway.
Nothing to worry about in my opinion.

Who are these payers that he is going to buy thats going to improve them so much? Considering Barkley, Stones and possibly Lukaku could be gone, £100M isn't going to improve them greatly.

Not for now until he does it the summer after, and the summer after that until he makes them a champions league club as he says he will. Also plans to offer stones and barkley new lucrative deals in the summer

Anyway meh, it's Liverpools problem

Paulinho, Chiriches, Soldado, capoue would be a solid start for them ;)

Seriously though we did get some high profile names ourselves minus CL

TV deal kicks in next season club who finishes 20th in league this year gets £90mil if im not mistaken, so the 100mil on players is nothing to worry about, this wont be on the same level as City or Chelsea imo.

Just found out the new owner only has just over a billion dollars net worth. Which as mad as it sounds is nowhere near enough to significantly dope up Everton.

Unless he's just a figurehead for the real buyer behind the scenes - Usmanov. It'd be difficult for Jabba the Hut to sell his 30 percent stake in Arsenal without taking a hit on the selling price. Especially if he's officially taking over Everton, thereby contrary to the rules owning shares in two football clubs at once.

Didn't know where to put this but just seen what's happened with Osman & Hibbert, unbelievable that no one could be bothered to contact them to say they weren't being offered new contracts after being with the club for over 20 years.
Football really does stink...

Couldn't agree more. Absolute piss take. Also, not sure why people are tipping Everton to do well this year, I don't get it.
