Might put something on Llorente coming off the bench and scoring. I don't usually get optimistic about playing Everton away- we normally have to sweat and scrap for a point

Historically we've got a great record at Goodison Park. It's the home fixture we tend to struggle with against them.

We'd be on 9 points if Harry could score in August - wouldn't have been so sluggish.

It'll be a a tough game though because we always miss a season full of chances against Everton for some reason.

Maybe, but Kane is one cog in the machine. So far we haven't played at a great tempo, our pressing/organisation could be much better, and we've had some bad individual errors - and not just on the pitch as the manager has made a couple of bad calls too. Kane is just another part that hasn't fully fired yet, a lot more to come from the whole team.

I hope Sanchez and Aurier start but not sure on the latter. Either way hopefully it gives Trippier a kick up the arse as he hasn't looked as dangerous going forward as last season yet.

Last 20 games

Goodison W1 D6 L3

WHL W6 D3 L1

How far we going back? Nicholson?

'Historically' is more than one decade too.

Maybe it's just me but I remember a lengthy period where we would usually beat them away but lose at home.

Last 40 games

Goodison W6 D9 L5

WHL W13 D3 L4

There was a period of 5-6 years (mid 90s to early 00s) where we didn't lose there for ages and won two on the trot twice, broken up by draws.

However that run ended about a decade ago, and historically it isn't sustained. In the 80s Everton used to beat us home and away regularly (There was a 10 game run from 83-86 when they won 8, with 1 win for us and a draw)

I think that's not a great recent home record for Everton against us either to be fair. However the idea we're better against them away just isn't true anymore

That's certainly not bad. More likely to win or draw than lose.

I agree. But the idea we're better against them away just isn't true, aside from an isolated decade where it was basically the same home and away. We historically have a much better record at White Hart Lane

Interesitng to see who will start on the RB. Cause from what we've seen in last seasons Poch like to rotate fullbacks which means that if Trippier starts today we will probably see Aurier against Borrussia. Which I prefer to be honest.

Maybe it was a specific period of results I'm thinking of. Either way, other than it being full of moaning scousers, Goodison Park doesn't worry me and never has.

Heart says through sanchez and aurier in depending on formation. Head says slowly introduce.

1-3 Spurs with lorry coming off the bench to make it safe.

For all the money they have spent, I look at that Everton team and it's actually pretty average. There is not 1 single player in their 1st 11 that would get in ours. They had Lukaku and Barkley who could hurt us last season but don't have that today. Will obviously be a tough game like goodison park always is but Everton really ain't all that.

I don't know why people use historical facts, especially old ones. We have two different teams. Even a year ago! Sorry but the history means nothing to me. I look at the two teams on the pitch today! Of course at this moment in time we don't know the teams and we don't even know if any our new boys will play and indeed how they will play. So tough to predict this one.

Thought by removing the shell of my racing snail it would make him faster. Actually all it did was make him more sluggish.
