Conte won’t stay.

We’ll bring in a manager who plays a back 4.

Perisic, Udogie and Porro will be pointless.

(Im hoping to get all the negativity and pessimism out of me and start afresh tomorrow)

Whether he is staying or going and I am personally convinced he is gone I really hope he remains positive for the season.

With a little luck we could have a crack at the FA Cup or even the champions League with a lot of luck.

Perisic can play up top and a front foot coach will ensure Udogie and Porro are used to good effect. Rose and Walker were very attack minded too and made more errors under AVB, who was more conservative than Poch.

Can also have a midfielder drop to screen.

Or we go for a coach who plays three at the back..

Amorim who was high up on PSGs list.

Or De Zerbi who was on Paraticis list
Would be my top choice. We have the players for his system, and he’s done well at Sporting Lisbon. I was certainly impressed when they played us. Lovely attacking movements, but also defended intelligently.

As for Conte. I want him to stay. But I, like many on here, feel that all indicators suggest he’s off. And then, in terms of a new manager I guess that will also be dependent on whether QSI invests or not. If ENIC stay or go.

Shame he never got to sign a CB, last 2 he did were Rudiger and Luiz, plus he wanted Van Dijk.

CB has become Levy's kryptonite, which is interesting as it used to be centre forwards that he couldn't buy but then a rather good one fell in our lap. Wonder if it has anything to do with the fact the market price for good defenders has become very high? And probably once bitten twice shy from how much we paid for Sanchez.

Why though? Who’s to say porro and Udogie can’t adapt? Play with flying wing backs like Liverpool did? Peri has 1 year left on his contract so not much of an option.

I can't see Conte staying if we fail to qualify for CL, and I don't think our defence is good enough to secure a spot in the top four.

I just hope that we start the manager hunt now, and have it ready come the end of the season.

We still have a solid chance at top 4, although the window was a good 5/10 and nothing more. A good CB signing like Ndicka or Hincapie would’ve been perfect, but Danjuma and Porro could be revolutionary.

With others coming back from injury or finding form, we could go on a serious run and finish this season strong.

We can tackle the contract or new manager search in the summer. Let’s focus on what’s in front of us. And right now, that’s City.

Think not going for his apparent no.1 target who seemed set up to leave Roma couldn't have been any easier to get him, but obv Levy didn't want to be stuck with him for the new manager summer will be a disaster trying to replace Conte, potentially Kane to (which we wont be able to) a plethora of loans coming back for the new guy to assess before choosing new targets all while newcastle chelsea liverpool etc add to their squads get ready for mid table mediocrity now for a bit

I think it is if we can avoid injuries and just get a run of confidence going. We saw last year they can perform when more confident.
I think what is key is avoiding injuries for once!
If we can keep Romero, Benta, Kulu fit we have a big chance.
Throw in new attacking weapons in danjuma and Porro which provide serious threat from rwb and the ability to finally drop son if he keeps playing poorly with real pace and ability coming in to replace him and I really think we can kick on the rest of the season.

Not a dig, but do you think we'll concede less goals, or that our offensive output thanks to Porro and Dajuma will compensate for that flaw in our game?

After what I've seen in January with the transfer window, I am firmly of the opinion now that our manager and the board have been at an impasse for a while with neither willing to budge. And this has been reflected in our transfer activity (or lack of). Unfortunately, I think this means Conte walks at the end of this season.
