By why does he deserve to see out the rest of this season?
I’m not saying he does mate.
I just think it’s already agreed, Conte gives it his best shot at a top 4 charge, then in the summer Conte and his staff exit stage left, Poch enters stage right.
Maybe they’ll have a custody battle over Ryan Mason.

Make sure to tune in for Season 23 of the long running Enic comedy show.

it's not like getting rid of the coach and bringing yet a new staff will turn things around. that's absolutely not the case and there are other things the club has to look at, some of them being uncomfortable ones. but it just feels like this staff is collecting the paychecks until the end of the year, going with the flow, without any sense or urgency, awaiting the end of the contract to piss off to somewhere.

Comte’s success this season is basically because of the set piece coach, if it wasn’t for him I believe he would have genuinely already been sacked

I’m really worried by all who want Poch back as if he’s the messiah!
Be careful what you wish for.
Hopefully Conte will be renewed after his mini break and we can get back on an even keel

I’ve not sure anyone considers Poch the messiah. I am however quite sure the majority consider him and his brand of football as an improvement on what we’re currently getting and what we’ve had ever since his (justified) sacking 3 and a half years ago, save for about 3 months at the end of last season.

In response to some other posts I’ve seen tonight (not yours) I also don’t think appointing Poch will give Levy a clean slate - I’ve sensed something significant turn amongst the fanbase since Wednesday evening. There now seems to be a consensus that the rot runs deep and all the way to the owners and their priorities/ambition. However that doesn’t detract from the need to move on from a manager who is failing to deliver either entertainment or results.

I don't think there is a team in football who are scared of playing Spurs. We are just so bereft of ideas that they know if they just stay compact and work hard they will have chances.

Wolves are a good side with some excellent players and a manager many here would be happy to have but it's the same for every team we play - regardless.

Now, I know we have some cloggers but the lack of workrate, passion and desire to actually force the issue and score is a disgrace. Is it the players or is it that the manager is unable to motivate them. I don't know, but as always, we know which one is cheaper to replace.

Everyone knows how to play against us. Milan are no mugs, they will too. I expect us to go out.

I’d rather write this season off, bring in a manager to get to know the players, and get ready for next season, preferably with no European football whatsoever. I’m angry every time we play, and it’s down to Conte, nobody else,, the tactics are the worst in the premier league. Set pieces and Kane aside, we’d be fucked.

Is this the place to moan about that Lucas substitution? Christ, how uninspired.
honestly, that I can live with, but Porro for Emerson was truly mindboggling. was it an attempt at retaining the 0-0? taking out a more offensive oriented RWB that was actually having a solid game, having just hit a good early cross to Kane a few minutes back makes no sense if you intend to go for the victory. one might argue that Emerson actually deserved the place in the starting XI and I'd fine with it but this course of action was inexplicable.

Our attack is world class, or at least close. Our defence is shite, or at least close. Which strenghts should we play at?
A tactical approach that relies on defensive strenght is perhaps not the answer?
Yet that is our answer and way to go.

I keep seeing the mantra that any other manager would be a stop gap and it would fix problems temporarily, but perhaps new thoughts would bring the best of this squad and also build with a thought that doesn't need 9 new players in order to adapt to a rigid system.

Play with what you have, not with what you'd want.

Milan is the one for me. We look dreadful away from home, we’ve done well at home.

If we go out and go out with a whimper, as I fully expect us to. Then it’s just a matter of time, although that time will probably be May 31st or whenever his contract runs out

All I do know is that I really rather he wasn’t our manager next season

Sure, if he'd walked into a situation like at Wolves he'd probably be doing similary to Lopetegui. Good results, followed by a bad one.

But Im certain they'd be green shoots.

Poch's start at Southampton was very different to at Tottenham.

If you recall at Southampton, it was pretty much instant. They pressed and overworked teams every week.

At Tottenham, we looked quite lethargic at times and you only saw the intensity in doses.

Simply because Southampton had the structure for him to walk into. We of course, OF FUCKING COURSE, didn't have it in place.

I think if De Zerbi came here, it would be exactly the same as Poch s time here.

What I can now say with certainty id that whoever comes in needs to go towards Sarr, Skipp, Bissouma, Romero, Deki, Gil, Devine, Porro, Udogie and get that same energy back.

Son, Lloris, Dier, Davies, et all have had their time, unfortunately as good as some of them have been, they haven't been able to get is over a line and this whole concept of hiring a winning coach in to get them to achieve it has been proven to be flawed.

Its time to start fresh and get that young energy back. We have a potentially good base here, it needs the coach to match it.

Kane is obviosuly the huge question mark. So I'd ask him to guide these younger players and get that Poch era vibe back, as that was our best time and it all down to to having youth and energy.

If Kane can get on board with that, great. If not, see if the new coach can get him to give is one last solid year before he goes on a free.

We need to be brave now. We need to look towards a new era. Stop chasing gold with the same tired faces and look towards the youth. Thats where the energy is. Son hasn't got long left, so why try milking more out of the cow when you can just crack on and nurture the calfs.

United kept bringing in coaches to win NOW and brought in big name players or shiny toys, but neglected the fundamentals.

It took them 10 years but they finally seem to have got it now.
That isn't true. Southampton didn't constantly press until his 2nd season (1st full season).

They did manage in a few games, but it wasn't consistent at all, in fact he even won less games than Adkins and many pundits were questioning the hire, saying they would have been better off keeping Adkins.
