Well for one, it would be nice to not have to go through ANOTHER new manager search, and not have the possibility of us watching the likes of Sanchez play for us again or Winks and Ndombele return with a clean slate under whoever that manager might be.

But this has been discussed ad infinitum already anyway.

I highly doubt it will be another manager search, it will be Poch.

I understand people have different opinions, and if someone's watching right now and is happy with they are seeing, fair play. Personally, I prefer football when it's a bit more cut and thrust, where we go after teams and show more ambition in an attacking sense. I find Conte's style and tactics incredibly boring.

It wasn't boring 2nd half of last season. It wasn't boring in some games this season, however its apparent that we can only play our best stuff when we have a full week to prepare for one game.

I hope not, I'd rather keep Conte until a decent coach becomes available. Plus, it seems a bit rubbish to sack a guy when he's on sick leave (I know we sacked Jol while an actual match was happening, but still...).
I can see him weeping and blowing his nose on the 15 million quid a year he earns. Bless his cotton-socks.

I am kind of with you on this but only six managers in the league have been in their jobs longer than Conte. And Conte himself rarely stays in any one job longer than two seasons.

I understand his MO completely. Which it makes it all the more baffling that we hired him in the first place, knowing full well that he would demand a lot, but that he also would be unlikely to hang around too long either. Says it all about how we are run, and it's not surprising this seems to be the most salient point in a lot of posts these days.

I think he should do us a big favour and stay until the end of the season. Then if we can’t find the right manager in the summer he should do us a big favour and Levy should pay him lots and lots of money to stay a bit longer until we find a suitable replacement

We could even stick a clause in his contract that he could manage us from Italy on Zoom

No way is Levy paying for premium Zoom though, so would never work.

We knew what we were getting into bed with both with Conte and Mourinho; they need funds and specific players to fit into their specific systems and then they win things.
We have broken promises to both of them, probably because when it came to the crunch, we weren't willing to pay the money, rendering both of their appointments utterly pointless.
We will in all likelihood now go back to the ex, who we had a few good times with, but also had a 12 month period at the end where it all went to absolute ratshit and should've parted ways sooner. Poch also regularly fucked off the domestic cups, which a fair few have conveniently forgotten in the last 7 days...doesn't fit the narrative
He'll now come in and not cause any fuss, just tow the party line, like a faithful labrador; perfect for the board.
Such an alarming and disappointing lack of ambition.

I know it makes little difference, but I think he was sacked before the game but the players/media only found out during, hence why it then circulated in the second half. Both Jenas and Bent have come out and said that Jol wasn't himself before the game and was a bit blank, presumably suggesting he knew his own fate beforehand.

I'd imagine he still agreed to take charge of the game because he was such a fucking great guy.

We have won more games than everyone else aside from the 3 teams immediately above us too. Let’s ignore that tho as it doesn’t fit the narrative. Honestly, I really fucking hope some of you lot apply the same exacting standards to your own professional life as you do to the poor fucks who end up managing us. I’m not even a fan of Conte being here (that’s on Levy who knew who he is, what he does, and what he needs, but employed him anyway) but 16 months in and he should be what? Pissing top 4, winning things? Who the fucking fuck has managed to do that previously at this fucking club under our fucking **** chairman?
How about a narrative of we have lost 9 of 26 games.
That is more than a third of our league games.
Lets ignore that too.

I kind of agree with lots of that but clearly you weren’t a massive Poch fanboy

For the most part he did an incredible job leading the club through the transition from the old to new ground via the monstrous bowl and the late move in date

We were punching well above our weight and prioritised certain games because our squad was far too small and unable to cope with multiple competitions at certain times

He also told us exactly what was going to happen and it fell apart once Levy and Poch began singing from different team sheets

They say never go back and it’s the same hierarchy at the club as Poch previously had so it really doesn’t look great but Conte most definitely isn’t a Yid

I’ve had enough of a negative coach that is doing us and the Chairman a favour and should clearly leave in the summer. It’s not like he’s a project manager. Never was, never will be

Italian job? if it's that I assume he's gone if Milan knock us out.

The mini teetering on the edge of the cliff with death or the gold is the perfect metaphor for THFC. It is us in a nutshell.

As an aside, the Italian job was set in Turin and not Milan.

That cryptic was very easy to figure out, admittedly because I read somebody say Italian Job and read the thread backwards, The answer came straight to me.

I've seen this said more frequently recently, and it was said with Jose as well, but I don't understand it. What is it based off?
Paid a kings ransom to placate the fans by bringing in a top top name to take the pressure off our Chairman for all the dreadful mistakes and bad footballing decisions he’s yet again made

More smoke & mirrors from our leader to keep his job ‘sweet’

And all well run clubs form their strategy based on one result. A win versus Milan and everything will be sweet, birds will be chirping, crowd will love Levy, we will play beautiful football etc etc

The fact is we don't know if it's true that the result will decide whether he stays or not for next while but the fact it's so believable says everything you need to know about spurs and our planning
