I am intrigued by this. Whilst we all want Joe Lewis to be more of a benefactor, I would imagine it is not straight forward even if he wanted to be. FFP means that you cannot just inject significant money into a club. However, Man C, Chelsea, and soon to be Newcastle, obviously do this, and Leicester, and Villa to a lesser extent. I wonder how it works. The owner cannot just transfer £100M into the clubs bank account. Is it through issuing more shares, contrived sponsorship deals, underwriting loans that are never paid back or interest free? Would love to know how the different clubs approach this but I guess we'll never find out.
Everton have done it under Moshiri but have now hit a brick wall with FFP. Could only spend 1.5m on Demarai Gray and Andros T on a free. I think it’s still you can lose 35m per year over 3 yrs. does not include new grounds , training centres.
City sold 10% to Chinese a few years ago , not sure how much that was valued at. Palace sold a percentage to an American for 90m and have spent a fair bit on players plus some has gone into improving the academy.
If we sold 10% how much would it be worth?
If we are valued around 2bn that would be in the region of 200m.
Would Joe and his family want to do that. Who knows but it’s one way to do it.

The thing I love most about this appointment is Conte's personality.

I think it is exactly what the squad needs in terms of a kick up the arse but by someone they will respect and believe in.

I think it is exactly what the fans and club need in terms of a very passionate guy who will lift our spirits and build a great feeling in the stadium on matchday and around the club, can't wait for us to score our first goal and he runs into the crowd and hugs the fans.

I think it is exactly the guy that Levy needed to appoint to get the fans off his/ENIC's back which will in turn lead to a further feelgood feeling inside the club and with the fans.

I think it is exactly the guy who Paratici needed to hire as its someone who is a world class manager, its someone he has worked with before and someone who can bring us success which will make Paratici look good and will make our fans happy.

This is the manager we've needed to hire for years and years, we couldn't previously attract this type of manager but we now have everything in place to do so, we were told to be patient and here we are 20 years later, now lets goooooo, lets dare to do, lets believe in the club and manager and players and plan and lets enjoy supporting our great club again.

Klopp struck lucky when those financial experts from Barcelona decided to pay in the region of 140m for Coutinho.
This enabled them to pay record sums for VVD 75m and Alison 66m. This was after Klopp criticised Utd for spending 90m on Pogba. Saying he would never do that sort of thing.
This turned them into champions and CL winners.
Sometimes you need the dice to roll in your favour.

After winning the Serie A title in all three of his seasons as Juventus manager, Pirlo heaped praise on Conte's impactful personality.

In 2014, the ex-Italian midfielder claimed he needed just one speech to win over the Juventus dressing room ahead of years of success.

He said: "He [Conte] needed only one speech, with many simple words, to conquer both me and Juventus.

"He had fire running through his veins and he moved like a viper. When Conte speaks, his words assault you. They crash through the doors of your mind."

Interesting. I would love to think Lewis will finally pump isome funds in after so long but I have my doubts...
If you don’t pump funds in to support one of the best managers in the world, than who do you pump funds in for? Surely this will give lewis a wake up call also. Doesn’t get bigger then then this being a Spurs fan or owner of Spurs.

So whats the deal with the visa? is he officially allowed to take training yet? A lot of reports saying he's involved, although i don't doubt he is, if he hasn't officially got a visa could it not have some ramifications for us?

I don't disagree. I just find it hard to believe that after 20 years of ownership he's suddenly had a lightbulb moment. More than happy to be proven wrong though.

People just don't understand debt and liken it to personal debt. It's completely managed with low interest (I've had enough of Enic but fair play the deal they have is amazing) so the complete value of the debt really doesn't matter much.

Last report was it should come through today but if not through by Thu morning then Conte would have to manage from the stands.

Think someone said Paratici might do the press conf today if Conte Visa not through yet.

Also its not just him its all his coaching staff's Visa's also.

Paratici and Lloris are doing the press conference. It's at 13.30.

That, my friend, is some of the best info you've ever posted!
I've always appreciated what Levy and Enic have done for us as a club but the big issue was Levy's lack of football knowledge.
To hear that he's finally leaving it to the professionals, while he concentrates on what he's good at, is possibly the best news ever.

Levy deals with the business side, actual proper football people deal with the football. Happy days.

I think you’re being generous to Levy here. How can he possibly have a lack of ‘football knowledge’ after running the club for TWENTY-ONE YEARS?

The club are careful to use words like watching and observing. Presumably this is allowed. Clueless journalists use words like taking training but since when words mean anything to them ?
Presumably if the WP hasnt arrived by Thursday, he'll be watching from the stands

Just listened to the extra inch podcast, not really a great fan of the pod, Bardi’s ok but the other 2 are just knobs.
the had someone on who does a pod on Italian football, he’s a bit obsessed with Conte, doesn’t like or hate Conte, just fascinated by him, just listening to him talk about Conte will get you really excited.
he seems to be just what the squad and the way they’ve been playing needs…….hopefull!?
