I’m not saying I want him gone but based on this season shoild we really be on our knees for him to sign a new deal. It’s been shit.

I just want to enjoy watching football again.

If Conte stays we must back him so his system works, otherwise we get in a manager who plays progressive football and invest in some young, hungry, energetic players.

I want to see some football like we played in the 16/17 season. Is that too much to ask?

Has my backing until he gets who he wants/gets a proper defense/ offloads alot of players who shouldn't be here.

The team needs sooo much work.

When was the last time we scored more than 2 goals/game?

A. 16/17 - peak Poch.

Conte is doing better with this team than any manager since... and this is with Sonny being off-form all season.

he says in the Conte thread...
Tis him picking him... weekly. So, the question is, is it on stubbornness or tomorrow the point that these weekly costly errors are more detrimental tomyour long term plan Daniel than spending £80M on Gvaridol.

Either way...AC wins and we the fans suffer

We had two world class Centrebacks and a brilliant midfielder in Dembele back in 16/17. We don’t have anywhere near this quality in the current squad.

I just find it impossible to believe that Conte hasn’t noticed how flat we are at the start of EVERY. SINGLE. MATCH. I’m glad we play with intensity once we’re down but this can’t be a plan, can it?

Tbf to Benta and Hojbjerg I don’t think they’re that far off Dembele and Wanyama, they’ve played really well together.

However comparing Dier and Davies to Toby and Jan is like comparing Pavlyuchenko to Kane.

I think Pavlyuchenko is closer to harry then dier and davies to belguim duo, more like rasiak to kane

He deserves to be backed now more than ever, if we truly want to be a club that wins things.

I refuse to go back to square one and build for 3-4 more years all the while our rivals are doing the same.

Things have changed drastically since 2017 and everyone lives in this fantasy world where we can replicate that. The chances of it happening today are nearly 0.

It's pretty simple to me.

Conte is a winner with a style of football that will win things if he has the right players for each position. The type of players he needs are the finished article which will cost.

There was little point in hiring him, if we either won't or don't have the funds to back him.

If that is the case, it was a strange appointment that was bound to end in tears.

If we want a manager to make the best of what he has and to develop players then we shouldn't have hired Conte.

We're in this mess as we appear stuck inbetween the two. We will continue to see mistakes as we don't have all the right players to play the system, but we'll also see us turn games around as we have some players who will highlight how the 'style' can work.

For us fans it's going to continue to be painful to watch.

We have a choice, get rid of Conte, potentially get a manager who makes the best of the players we have and who may develop the likes of Spence into a first team player. However, we would probably just full short as we are competing with the clubs with an unlimited budget.

Or back Conte, get in the players he wants and we know his 'style' of play can compete with the clubs with an unlimited budget. This would give us the best chance of winning something, but it would have to be Conte's way.

I can't take the whole playing the second half only bullshit. It needs to stop. We shoot ourselves in the foot every fucking match.

we've had good 2nd halves, not good games, let's not kid ourselves.

Let’s not kid ourselves. You want to see more “attractive” football before you say we’ve had a good game. But this is a results based sport, and we’re 4th. That is irrefutable.

All depends on how you define "good games".

We have finished with more goals than the opposition 9 times in the league this season - I'd say that is a pretty good definition of a good game.
