I don't think he's going to walk. I'd be very surprised if he did. But the telling line from that interview is this.

"Here coaches change, but players are always the same... but results don't change".

This to me is a very blatant and overt message to the board - give me the players I want and clear out the extras"

Whatever. This club thoroughly deserves it. The fans won’t give it to them. At least the manager does. We’re not a circus because of Conte. We’re a circus because of ENIC.

Sadly, people are advocating for Conte to walk since he’s telling everyone how it is & back ENIC because the fans have Stockholm Syndrome.
I think I gather you do not like Enic.
However in this instance, Conte is the culprit.

And correct me of I'm wrong but didn't Conte do this at Inter after only a few months?

Fuck making us into even more of a soap opera. Our manager is doing the equivalent of AFTV.

get on with your job and coach our team.

I trust Conte - but don’t need these shenanigans.

When I was living in Australia, I stayed in a big house with loads of couples, mostly Brits and there was an Italian couple. They were absolutely mental, really funny people. One minute they'd be cooking in peace and then all hell would break loose, there'd be threats about leaving and packing suitcases, everything.

Day later, everything would be calm again.

Everytime Conte laughs and jokes or goes a bit sulky, I think of them.
Haha love it mate, doesn’t surprise me one bit it sounds stereotype but honestly from experience of my family and friends who are Italian it’s so so true.

Doesn’t mean Conte 100% won’t walk but as you say Italians who are a bit extreme are unbelievably up and down at times, they live in the moment but are also some are competitive and ambitious like no one else I know, picture Bonnuci, Buffon, Chiellini etc those warrior types who do absolutely anything to win. Conte was the same but x10 as a player and he’s the same as a manager.

Italians are also extremely impatient BUT if they can see a good path they can enjoy and that is challenging they will stick to it even with all the emotional ups and downs, if the path isn’t leading them where they want to go they will for sure do a U turn faster than you can imagine and on they go to the next journey.

My Italian aunt sent this massive crazy OTT e-mail to my Nonna basically about absolutely nothing and said she’d never speak to her ever again, 2 days… just 2 days later she’s round her house having coffee and panettone, hugs kisses chatting away ?

Conte is like this but about football, that and his wife and daughter are ? his life and passions.

He will be for sure considering his future but just because he’s reacted like he has doesn’t mean he’s ? leaving imo.

Let’s see how it plays out.

So many bedwetters in here. I liked that. He was honest, he's clearly frustrated, but he's passionate. He wants to win. He's disgusted by 4 losses in 5 games. This is what we've needed. He'll calm down, this'll be his nadir and we'll get back on track. He's going to fight for this.

Exactly this. In fact. This was a message to the players. "I like what you do in training but you have to do it on the pitch. Time to be brave on match day. Or what is the point in me being here."

Surely nobody in their right mind WANTS him to go
There are but they were proably the same ones who didn’t want him to start with ,they’re massively in the minority but like the news if it’s not negative it’s not talked about

Yeah. I think after the City result it was all smiles and cheers, very easy to relax and think "see it's not that bad". I do think its his emotions but he could also just be making sure that things still need to change.

You are spot on. All i'm saying is we know how the club briefing machine works, i'd expect to see some stories in the Athletic within the week about how players are 'bored by Conte's training sessions and haven't warmed to him'
They’ll roll Winks right out there

Yeah I don’t know why some are suggesting that as I don’t think I’ve seen anyone saying it.

What some posters are saying ( and I agree) is that even though the current state of the club lays firmly at ENIC’s door if Conte was to quit after one transfer window it would be a pretty weak move. Winning mentality or not.

I would be amazed if he walked before the end of the summer window let alone now.

If he would, then why the fuck did he come here?

Either way, his comments are not helpful to the club. Sure he speaks the truth but it isn't doing the fans or players any favours. Feels like self preservation disguised as honour to me (if he did walk).

Let’s also realise, that if Conte actually wants to quit already then good fucking riddance. He clearly isn’t the man we thought he was or the man we need

Exactly this.

The key part of his interview - which the media will not highlight - is his comment about the club changing managers, but the players staying the same and the results staying the same. Surely the board's takeaway from this should be the need to support a manager in overhauling the squad, rather than changing the manager again - i.e. the opposite of the message the media will be pushing (Conte is about to quit / be sacked).

It’s exactly what you get with him mate.

When we hired him I posted and warned everyone that’s he’s like Tottenham (a 6 out of 10) dating a crazy super hot model but one who is absolutely bat shit mad.

You enjoy the ride as you don’t know how long it will last, there will be ups, downs, fireworks and you hope she stays with you for as long as possible but you’re ready for the reality that one day you wake up and she’s gone as she’s bored of you being a 6/10 and has hooked up with a millionaire or some super handsome hunk of a fella, that’s just life haha.

This latest Conte interview is no suprise whatsoever

Watching the presser back its clearly an emotional response and these losses have him doubting his ability to change things.

He does say in amongst it all that he wants to try and recover the situation, he is just being very emotional and clearly wants reassurance from above.

I don't think it reflects well on him were he to leave right now, especially off the back of the City game which was a Conte masterclass.

I don’t think Poch ever spoke as candidly as Conte has done tonight. In fact, I think the most candid interview Poch did, correct me if I’m wrong, was when he said on the eve of the biggest game in this club’s history that he would resign if Spurs won the Champions League.

Slightly off topic but seeing what’s happening at the club now has given me a new found level of respect for what Poch did in his infant years at the club. We were in way worse shape when he took over with some utter garbage in our ranks and he turned us into title contenders in a little over 12 months. Conte, for everything he’s said, hasn’t had nearly as much success with a squad that includes two world class attackers in their prime.
