This is all very exciting. But what about all these reports about Conte going to Juve? There's a lot of smoke.....

This was Conte (as Inter manager) to Agnelli the last time he saw him

The media will be pushing the “he’s going to leave soon” narrative if we keep doing well. Just wait and see.

Good post, although the key difference with Jose is that his record in Europe is amazing. When Real hired him he'd won the CL with both Porto and Inter, while he also got to the semis with Chelsea. Winning the CL is everything to Madrid and Conte's record is abysmal for a manager with such a strong pedigree in the league. I think he's a very unlikely fit for them on that basis alone.

I agree that the European Cup is very important to certain clubs and Real Madrid isn't in a bad place to have to resort to signing the biggest name available in desperation. Ancelotti's success has allowed them to bide their time and plan out a succession. It will always be a negative until Conte has a run in the CL but he is a fantastic coach and you can always overlook it. Real have employed coaches with no massive CL pedigree before so it's possible but it does mark down his prospects somewhat I agree.

It would be interesting to know if Tuchel would be ahead of Conte in the race for the Real Madrid job. Tuchel has the CL trophy but only a couple of league titles with PSG and Conte has lots of League Titles but only one deep run in the Europa League.

Already started. First up: "Daniel Levy has made it clear he needs to know whether Conte is committed by setting a mythical January deadline"

Re: Conte to Juve.

- We have no control over whether Agnelli would be willing to patch things up with Conte.
- We have no idea how much Conte misses living Italy with his family.
- We have no clue if Conte would like to renew his contract or would actively be looking at other clubs this summer.
Is Conte's family not over here in London with him?? That's a bit of a worry, imo.

I follow a tactics guy on Social media and I caught myself watching something of his earlier about Juventus and why they suck. He's not prone to hyperbole and even he just casually drops in, 'Allegri could probably have already been sacked but maybe they are waiting for Conte'.

I didn't realize it was so out there in the mainstream outside Tottenham circles and Italian journalists that he could be on his way to Juve.

There's no point worrying about him leaving. As of right now he is our manager and I haven't seen anything from him to suggest he wants out. I remember all the Poch to United stories, and he never went there.

They can't afford to pay Allegri off, is one of the reasons they haven't sacked him. All the respected journalists I've heard on the matter do not have Conte down as a serious successor at Juve.

This will just follow Conte around, so we just need to live with it.

Re: Conte to Juve.

Feels like one of those things that's completely out of our hands.

All we can do is speculate and project narratives based on Conte's quotes.

Maybe he's happy here and wants to build a long term project? Maybe he thinks there's a glass ceiling at Spurs and would be happy to return to Italy once his contract runs out?

Who the fuck knows? All we can do it hope for the best and enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Is Conte bigger than THFC?

We can ask him to commit if he doesn't he can leave and we can plan for our future.

I wouldn't say bigger necessarily, but he's his own man. He's always done what he wants and has walked away from clubs bigger than Spurs when he felt the need to.

As I've said in previous posts I don't think he has many obvious exit points at all and he has a lot going for him at Spurs that he wouldn't get elsewhere, but if Juve come calling at the end of the season there's no way of knowing what he'll do.

They can afford to pay him off, have you ever known a club, especially a top club to stick with an underperforming manager because they can't afford to pay him off? If they really are in dire financial trouble then the calculation will be when do we sack him because we can't afford NOT to sack him. A destitute Barcelona still sacked Koeman 10 games into a season.

I mean by this that the cost of paying him off means they won't be trigger happy. The things I've read suggest they'll only pull the trigger if the champions league is in doubt.

Some noise on Twitter that the source is tier 1 for Juve stuff.

Not particularly worried but would be extremely dissapointing if he left mid season.

Conte wanted to return to Juventus in 2019 but they chose Sarri. It might mean nothing, but yes, Fabiana is one of the best Juventus sources right now. Top Tier

Yeah if you remember her from the Vlahovic saga ms. Della Valle is no bullshitter.

I can’t lie if we lost him after this season it would be worse than selling Bale or Modric. Pure and utter pain. Let’s hope it’s not true, but with Allegri’s struggles I fear that it is something we’ll need to worry about.

In the event of Conte moving on, with Potter gone, I am almost 100% sure we will go back to Pochettino. While he has undoubtedly showcased his incompetence managing a team of superstars, we still are a level or two below PSG in that regards and might even be in a stronger position than his peak Tottenham side. And I for one would welcome a manager who wants his team to press high and demand the ball.

That being said, I do NOT think Conte will leave for Juventus. Agnelli clearly said in 2014, Conte wont be welcomed back at Juventus while he is in charge.

Its just the international break guys. Expect "Harry Kane to Bayern bomba next day"..

I do not want a manger who prefers 4 at the back because we have very few players suited to it atm.
