Its not Conte's fault the team is full of sub-par players...
I would agree a few months back. But he has to work with the players somehow.. Richy, Danjuma, Sarr, Skipp. Even Gil who was actually decent. Sighz. Him constantly playing Son is not helping him at all. That's becoming the last straw for me..

If Arteta had our results he would be under so much stress because he keeps playing the same starting XI and everyone will highlight how limited he was in not utilising the squad.

No system can make up for lack of quality. Bar Mendy’s wonder goal, all 3 came from individual errors, two of which Dier manufactured all on his own.

We put pressure on the back line by sitting back and giving the ball to the other team.

We could go to a back 4 (Romero won the world cup as part of a back 4) and try and control games with an extra player in cm

It also takes one of the error prone players out of the starting lineup.

But no, let's stick with the 343 formation that has worked out so well for us so far

Yet they gave a performance when Conte was thousands miles away, squad may not be the best in league, but under Conte it looks like worst one (which it isn't, not anywhere near it). We are on decent position because of our individual talent (especially Kane), despite of Conte having us play utter tripe football.

The team doesn't need 400mil to be able to beat Leicester or Aston Villa.

The same team beat City just over a week ago, so I’m not really sure what your point is.

We barely strengthened in January, and left the biggest hole in our squad open. (CB) We don’t need depth, we need more quality to go straight into the starting 11.

Just putting it out there that This has nothing to do with Conte for me, I’ve said the same since JM was in charge.

We spent 200m on a team that needed atleast 400m put into it when Conte signed.
I don't think it's as simple as that really. It's the priorities that concern me. We have a manager whose game is built off a solid defence but we haven't sign 1 quality defensive players since he arrived. We have done more for the attack yet he's not really an attacking manager so we dont really benefit enough from it. We're buying mostly players for a Poch team more than Conte. Whether intentional or not I don't know.

Arteta is 3 years in and half the fan base wanted him out right upto this summer…

I won't argue that - but, I don't think the difference today was the attacking players. And, we would always play Bentancur and Hojbjberg when healthy. Bentancur has been the glue that hold the team together, and Hojbjerg is not playing on Tuesday.

I would have taken Son and Kulu off sooner for sure - but that is not why we lost.

Biggest mistake, for me, was Porro over Royal - even though I wanted to see Porro play. I think a defensive Royal actually could have helped settle the back line.

Also - Forster was not good today. Not much Conte could do about that.

Well - we had Lloris, Romero, and Royal in the team then.

Its a little different with a debut for Porro, Franken Forster, and Tanganga.

My point is the manager didn't need to spend 400mil to get us to play better football and get results against massively inferior opponents.

Backing conte arguments go out the window for me when he serves up complete shit like that.

This is assuming all goes well with 4 at the back and arguably I think we would be worse off. If we had another CB of or around the same quality as Romero I would totally agree with you, and in concept I agree with you anyway.

We constantly get overloaded in the midfield and PEH just isn’t consistent enough or have enough quality to play there alongside just one other CM.

I don’t think Conte is an idiot either, and though it seems like he’s being stubborn with the setup, I think it’s out of necessity at the moment. He just doesn’t trust the other CB’s enough to play 4 at the back.

It's OK to say Conte doesn't have a team full of ideal players for his system but that he should be doing better with what he has.
