I will say and I appreciate that most are too frustrated to perceive things this way but I do think that Conte is an excellent manager and I don't think his reputation as an excellent manager is sullied should it end up not working with us. I think his ability to be an excellent manager is predicated on being at a club who suits his sensibilities or who are willing to bend to his will. It seems we are neither and so if you were to judge him based on flexibility, then you can see that would reflect poorly on him as he has an uncompromising style.

When we hired him I thought the club was willing to do whatever it takes to make it work because of the fact we didn't get him in the summer, I assumed he had been assured that the club would do exactly that but it hasn't happened. I think it's okay to still see him as a great manager but the wrong fit for us perhaps, I do think that the club have backed him harder than anybody though so I simply feel confused by how miserable everything is and don't know whose responsible for what. I have to say I am disappointed that we have simply not got close to what I saw at Inter where despite the fact they were a counter attacking team, they were still extremely brave on the ball, playing out from the back and playing fast. We simply do not do that.

Looking at those two lineups today how many players from Wolves' team would you want?

I'm betting none

And yet somehow their manager altered things to improve the performance. He got the best out of what he had.

Conte has done that roughly ttlwice in the last twelve months
Neves would walk into our midfield and be best player by a mile

He'd been there a season and a half and changed a style of football after Atkins
He was there 18 months or so but Poch changed the way Southampton played immediately.

I remember them losing 2-1 to United within his first couple of games but absolutely battering the goal.

About 2 weeks later they beat City 3-2 and were outstanding.

Yeah I think both things can be true.

Conte is stubborn but that stubborness has worked wonders for him in the past.

But then he's always had better defenders who can play on the back foot AND bring the ball out confidently. We don't have that ans need to play on the front foot

I agree, sorry if I misunderstood. DeZerbi has tinkered around at the edges. Impressive as they are this needs someone who can gut us and change a whole approach. Poch has done that twuce (not sure about Espanyol)

Agreed

Conte not being up to the job shouldn't hide the shambles that is going on above him

Levy also needs to go
I personally think Levy and co are waiting for Paratici to have his appeal rejected and then they'll use it as a clean slate.

"Paratici was the one who suggested we hire Conte, it sadly hasn't worked out, so its time to part, anyway......oh look! Mr Pochettino is back!"

That way Teflon Dan looks like once again circumstances were out of his control.

Well this is the most frustrating thing for me, I thought worst case scenario; he's the George Graham equivalent for us and then we get the front foot manager in the same sense as when Wenger built on the foundations of Graham. I think midfield wise that's absolutely possible but defence wise, we have none of those foundations.

Stellini on Conte returning:

"Antonio will be a massive boost for us from tomorrow until the end of the season. It is important that Antonio is back."

The arrogance is astonishing. They genuinely don’t fear the sack when they’re lucky to still be in a job as it is.

Just thinking, Levy sacked Mourinho a week before the League Cup final could also hoping to get a reaction from the lads to win it. Will he do the same fucking out of the ordinary again and sack Conte while he's in Italy, hoping to get a reaction from the team to overturn the result at home?

I wouldn't bet against the baldy performing another trolling measure.

This is a really poor football team made even poorer by the suffocating tactics from the manager. The problem is, I don't really see how this gets better? Who will come in on the staff and playing side for the money that we will be willing to pay?

Has any chairman ever sacked a manager whilst recovering from surgery and not in the country?
