They signed him for €30m in Summer 2012, he's struggled for goals, they want rid for a lot less. Quite similar circumstances, except we've had Soldado a shorter amount of time.

His french league stats:

2012/13 - 28 games, 3 goals
2013/14 - 32 games, 9 goals
2014/15 - 24 games, 4 goals

Overall (all comps) 128 games, 28 goals

I really don't see how he'd be good enough when we could be getting a player like Ings for less?
Lavezzi isn't a striker, he's a winger, so comparing him to Ings isn't particularly accurate. You're right about him underperforming for PSG though.

Nah I know, just focusing on what we need to spend more on rather than like-for-like.

Soldado would probably make a decent winger, has shown good passing, pressing & crossing skills, so why he's not had a crack there I don't know. Can't be any worse than Chadli or Eriksen have been of late.

He mostly plays behind the striker though. He's technically excellent and has vast experience of playing in the CL, which I think would help the like of Eriksen and Lamela tremendously. Whilst I rate Ings too and think he'd be a good signing we cant always sign youngsters, it works on FM but not in real life.

behind the striker meaning anywhere in the 3 behind the striker. If I meant a no10 I would have said that.

It just looks confusing if you follow the conversational flow in the thread

I like Ings, but they are very different players, and Ings will not be free. The quoted price for Lavezzi I've seen is €10m (£7.2m). I suspect after the minor compensation that Burnley would be due, along with the extra sign-on bonus and agent fees that normally go with free transfers, and we'd probably be close in price.

If it were between the two, I would rather have Ings, fyi

I wouldn't be against this, far from it, but I just don't think it will. I have it in my head that I read his attitude isn't great, as in a bit Ade-esque but I don't know if I'm making that up or not. Anyone else better placed know about his attitude?

We could use a guy with his experience and ****ishness in our squad. We need someone like that, our squad is too nice atm, and I think he would do well in the PL.
And him being the same nationality as Lamela and Poch is also a big plus.

As long as it has nothing to do with Lloris going the other way, I'm all for it.
