He would be a huge buy for us, he would provide us with soooo much width. I truly hope the sun is right, £14m seems a proper price, as he does want out of the club.

fyi i dont think he likes mourinho very much. i posted this a week ago

i cant see why coentrao would want to play under mourinho again.

But nobody had told Coentrao he would not figure against Espanyol - as he had not been selected among the replacements.
Even Jose Mourinho could not contain his amusement when told of the mix-up.

Albiol will play because he has earned it, Fabio will play because I don't have any other options

Sun say that Madrid have accepted a £14m bid for Coentrao! But yet to agree personal terms

Was that a whole story or one of those things where they only put one line about it in the transfer section?

I think that was always going to be the stumbling block with him. If we can't offer CL, he's probably looking for higher wages as a result.

I agree. It will probably not get done unless he gets no better offers. I think he would certainly add something to our side so I am still hoping. I just wish I knew what the plan b was.

If we want to sell him on our club, we should remind him he gets at least two cracks a year to beat Maureen. That should do it, no? He might play for free!

Danny Rose IMO- not really many other LBs out there that would improve us and are available

Adding Coentrao would also bring a ton more creativity to our side. Something I think can be overlooked when you see him solely as a "LB."

Totally agree. He's versatile too. Can play central midfield which is where he made his debut for Madrid, however it's not his best position. Could also play him left midfield if we're trying to close out a game and shut the back door for the final 5. Great footballer. Would be a brilliant signing.

If he's looking for £100k a week, I would pass. If he's on a sensible wage, it would be a fantastic signing. Everything's gone wrogn for him at Madrid, but for Portugal and Benfica he's always been different class. Pacey, comfortable on the ball, good dribbling, and a tidy defender.

A creative mid should not be that much of a problem, there are a lot of decent no. 10's out there. I really just think the way we lost Willian makes it hurt more than it should.

I'd query whether he's actually a "natural" LB. Converted winger no?

Good question. I think he has been back there enough now for me to think of him as a full back/wing back. I just don't like the other options being Vertonghen or Naughton playing out of position and the knock on effect that can have on the rest of the team/squad especially if it is for a prolonged period.

Fryers is a left back although we seem to want to play him at CB. Still a long way off being a first choice starter though

Most fullbacks are converted players. People like Walker, Micah Richards, Ashley Cole all played further forward in youth football and got moved back for varying reasons. Rose has just done it a little later.

He is shite on the wing, imo we were going to release him if werent for bristol manager moving him to LB for one game before we screw them because he did very well. His wing playing days ended when he got a career threatening injury.

I actually think he could be a potentially big player for us if he develops.

I dont think he will be a tottenham player tbh, I think there are only 4/5 players from U21 that have shots of being with us tbh
