Thought I would start a thread to see if we have any watchers of Argentine football and the Copa Libertadores.
It's 'El Clásico' tonight which is Boca vs River, KO at 9pm UK time then followed by my beloved San Lorenzo.

Yeah it was gutting right, its a fiery derby that one. I was living in Belgrano near the River stadium when all that shizzle kicked off which got the second leg of the final cancelled and moved to Madrid. The barra bravas are mad!

This weekends games after the league qualification round, pick of the bunch is obviously the superclásico between Boca and River. They are 4hrs behind us.

River Plate won by a goal to nil with a 93rd minute penalty. There were 9 bookings and SIX sending offs after a 15 minute brawl when the penalty went in.

Can you imagine the 83,000 crowd leaving the stadium? The euphoria for River Plate and desolation for Boca supporters.

Sadly, like the Old Firm games I suspect domestic violence was also played out in some homes.

Looks like a very dubious penalty decision in the first place, I would imagine that’s Boca’s main gripe. Crazy scenes though.

It’s a bit like our one, Pape Sarr at… was it Southampton? Where the player is genuinely trying to kick the ball and at the last second the opposing player gets in between player and ball.
