More wounds in the FA Cup’s death by a thousand cuts.

For me, the real damage was done a while back when they limited the number of allowed replays.

Yes, yes, pragmatism, fixture congestion. I get it. I hear you.

But up until then it was the only competition where to win it, you had to actually beat every team you met. No group stages. No away goals. No home and away legs. No penalty bloody shoot-outs. Which I can’t stand. Left the ground after the 84 uefa cup final a bit disappointed that we hadn’t won it properly 😬

I've always felt the FA should scrap FA Cup replays and make it so that every Premier League team are automatically the away team against lower league sides.

In the US you need ESPN+ to watch this - I pay for it and it makes me log in from scratch every time (I think they're just trying to get people to forget they've already bought it and sign up for multiple subscriptions), and then what you get for your money is commentary that's about 5 seconds delayed behind the video stream and the worst "analysis" of all time. The commentators will be getting excited about a chance when I've already seen the ball blasted into row Z and a goal kick being taken.

Palmer is a throwback creative player. Not especially quick or with a box of tricks but simply excellent in stepping away from an opponent.
