From the OS:
Our Under-18s step back into FA Youth Cup action with a fourth round tie against Charlton Athletic at The Valley tomorrow night (Wednesday January 14, 7pm).

It's the lads first match for over a month against a Charlton side that returned to action at the weekend, losing 4-2 at Leicester City.

Alex Inglethorpe's team were in a fine run of form pre-Christmas and a 4-0 win against Cardiff City last time out on December 13 made it six wins and 33 goals in their last seven matches in all competitions.

They remain top of Group B of the FA Premier Academy League having lost just once in 15 matches, scoring 45 goals.

The recent run included a 3-0 win against Sheffield United in the third round of the FA Youth Cup at the Lane on December 2.

For Alex, it's the chance for the lads to further their experience on the big stage but, as ever, he remains focused on the bigger picture of Academy football - the development and hopefully progression of players.

"We played Charlton at the start of the season and it was a goalless draw, a very competitive game and they will be very strong," said coach Alex.

"They played at the weekend so they will be slightly ahead of us in terms of match action.

"It's at their place, it's a one-off game and anything can happen but our season can't be defined by the FA Youth Cup.

"I keep saying it - it would be great to do well in the competition, it's the one everyone looks at - but ultimately we have a lot more going on as an Academy than this game and this competition.

"The incentive to progress is to get the next game, the next challenge at wherever we're drawn, the chance for the players to play under pressure when they are playing at a stadium, in front of a crowd. That's what they need."

Anyone going to this? Tickets only £3, to be purchased at the gates.

I'm thinking of going, only 10 minutes away and hoping to see a few more yids there!

Looks like they're in a good run of form, maybe we should play 'em against Portsmouth on Sunday.

Unfortunately tonite Jonjo Shelvey isn't playing for Charlton, but it would have been good to see him against Bostock and see which one of the 16 year olds is better.

I went to watch Charlton vs Norwich the other day, and impressed, for a 16 year old, he doesn't seem to be specially gifted technically, but is a real physical presence and is quite a tidy player.

Anyone got any links to the goals? Like to see Bostocks! Really think if we arnt going to play him in first team this season, (which I cant see Harry doing at mo with situation we are in) then we should loan him out to championship team for rest of season.

I wanted to see Bostock play in both the UEFA and FA Cup games

I've been most disappointed HR hasn't seen fit to pick him

looks like they played well again and their GK involved so much, let's hope they can progress to win the cup and play some first-team games with us.

our next is : Plymouth ( source their official site )

THE Young Pilgrims will play Premier League Academy side Tottenham in the fifth round of this year's FA Youth Cup.
Youth team coach Mike Pejic watched Spurs beat Charlton 3-0 at the Valley on Wednesday night.
The Londoners' victory came 24 hours after Argyle had defeated Millwall 3-2 at Home Park to book their place in the last 16 of this year's competition.
The Youth Cup game against Spurs will also be at Home Park, on a date yet to be decided before the end of January.
The tie will bring back memories of a famous Pilgrims youth-team victory over Spurs in the 1990s, when goals by Paul Wotton and Liam Ford gave Argyle a 2-1 win at Saltash United's then home of Kimberley.

smilar thing what i read by Burnley official site for our draw against them in Carling Cup Eek
How can they can see this was memorial or famous win .. unless if it was 6-0 or more i could agree !

77.45: GOAL - SPURS. Parrett in possession on the right side of midfield threaded fine pass to Obika, right on the shoulder of Charlton's defensive line, he controlled and finished in style, bottom corner.
Charlton 0, Spurs 3
