It actually is a criminal offence.
What it is is trespass - the law is an arse - no charges would be pressed and no jury would convict someone just wanting to celebrate at the end of a game. And the club will not ban 10,000 fans.
The only concern is an FA fine, but luckily it was no longer technically a football ground at the final whistle, so no offence was committed. I rest my case.

Well I know no charges would be brought. I'm just saying, it is still technically a criminal offence.

It's quite nice to know that in our final, unbeaten season at WHL, the team that scored the most goals against us in a single match was Wycombe (with 3). No Premiership side found the net against us more than a provincial League Two side from Buckinghamshire.

As long as the referee is present it still is a football ground.

Did he start chanting "we're the wheelchairs, we're the wheelchairs, we're the wheelchairs Tott-en-ham"
Just reminded me. When the police were lined up in front of the stand at the end, some fans sang "Copper, copper give us a song" . He must have sung something as he got a cheer :)

Fair play to the police and stewards for the game. They all seemed in good spirit. Even when the fans invaded the pitch they seemed calm about it. I saw one steward was taking a pic for a fan posing in front of the goal.

Agreed. Three cheers to the stewards, particularly those monitoring the north entrance/exit to the West Stand (lower).

I came up from Dorset and watched the game in 'The No 8', while my sons were in the ground. After the game the Park Lane, Worcester Avenue and Paxton gates were in lock-down and each manned by stewards and the police, so no chance of getting in.

Not so the West Stand (lower). I just wandered through - half pi**ed, serious face on, phone at my ear, nodding & trying to look important, waiting for the heavy hand on my shoulder that never came.......and I got in unchallenged for the closing ceremony.

They knew it would happen, so didn't try and stop anyone. Being relaxed about it was the best thing they could do.

I'm South Upper looking down at the shelf corner. That was much busier than normal all game and you couldn't see the aisle

Many must have snuck in for the final game

Guy I know from work was letting in loads of people. Can't remember what turnstile he worked on though. But he didn't think he was gonna have a new job at the new ground so thought "fuck it".
