Cheers, I took the plunge -- got a ticket in section C2, row 10, seat 126

I'M IN!!!! I am driving down from Landstuhl/Kaiserslautern area, who else is going? I would love to meet up with some SC faithful in Basel if possible. PM me or post if interested in meeting up somewhere before the game :ninja:

Swiss Spurs is in Block B3 lower tier with 50 tickets :sneaky: Couldnt get more tickets as they are all gone in B3 now.

So I am sure there will be quite a few lilywhites there!

One meeting point will definitely be the Pickwick Pub, Steinenvorstadt 13, which is in the city centre of Basel.

Do not drive into Switzerland on the A5 motorway.
It will cost you Sfr.40 to drive the few Kilometers to the Stadium
Leave the motorway in Germany just before Basle cross over at a smaller crossing.
The same applies for coming back. Don't be tempted by "it's only two Kilometers".
The Traffic/Boarder Cops have no sense of humor at all.

Cheers for that -- are vignettes for switzerland expensive? I remember the austrian vignettes are cheap, but never driven in switzerland... Basically, taking a 5 day trip with my family - heading down Wednesday after work. Staying in Kandern (southern tip of Black Forest, about 30 min drive from Basel). So, we'll be out and about Thursday, probably in Basel, then they'll go back and I'm on my own for the evening/game.

restaurant hasenburg sounds very useful - is that where you're going?

Sfr.40 = €33 for a tiny piece of motorway is not worth it.

Switzerland is very expensive but the Hasenburg is a nice alternative if loud beer swilling is not your sport.
There will be lots of Yids knocking around.
I was at the Young Boys game in Bern, August 2010.
The pre-match afternoon in the city center was great.
Lots of happy snap photo ops.

yep, switzerland is expensive, but didn't strike me as it will be dangerous like Rome or Lyon :mask: :playful:

I think the #14 tram goes to the stadium from the city centre, looking to see if there's a stop near the Hasenburg

Is here any expert who knows where is the best place to park around the stadium?
I am researching currently, but I was thinking of taking the tram. #14 goes to the stadium and runs right through the centre of town. I am looking for a car park just north of the river, near the centre, next to a tram station on the #14 line,... but perhaps there is a better plan? eddiepunch seems to know his way around Basel reading the comments above along with Dani_G.

Suggestions please? :watching:

For anyone traveling to Basel for the UEFA EL game, we will place some information on our website www.spurs.ch prior to the game regarding meeting points etc. Hope to see a large Lilywhite army in Basel on 11th April 2013 ;)

COYS!

just lifted this from the spurs abroad switzerland thread -- just FYI

There are parking spaces directly by the stadium (2 parking lots). Get there early enough and you should have a space. Otherwise park somewhere in Muttenz (which is the town next to Basel and near the stadium) and take tram Nr. 14 directly to stadium.

There is a also a shuttle train which takes you from the Basel main train station (Basel SBB) directly to the Stadium, which has its own train station (St. Jakob).

no extra tix, but looks like 2 main spots to meet so far -- the Pickwick Pub or the Restaurant Hasenburg -- Spurs fans will be at either
