I know the Danes have a strange view of immigrants and non-european citizens, but this is just sickening.

Ehrm. Ookay... whays their reason? Has their been a large spike in local crime or disruption caused by champion's league nights? Is it for the safety of foreign fans who might be harmed / persecuted or targeted when visiting copenhagen?

Or is it just plain old xenophobia? Cant see it lasting, its not like champs league needs the minnows of Denmark competing.

I think you will find more to this than pure discrimination. The system put in place to safeguard against away fans buying home seats flagged some names - this resulted in danish people with foreign sounding names being told their approved ticket requests were invalid.

It's a systemic mistake based on a security provision and not discrimination. Those who complained are getting their tickets. A big deal was made by the Danish equiv of the mail/sun and everyone jumps up on arms. Storm in a teacup.

I'm sure this would also have been picked up by the swedish newspapers by now. :-/

The details are foggy so far, but the claims that I've read is that it's about security, but I don't really buy that.

Wow, seriously, genuinely sorry for that comment. I'd blame it on booze and bitter disappointment over Norway changing government yesterday for no good reason, but that really doesn't justify it. So sorry to you Danes on here.
