I've never advocated us signing Adebayor permanently. To me he looks a shadow of his old self, and hopefully his wages will dissuade us from making any serious attempt to sign him. Having watched Llorente again tonight, if I was Levy, regardless of who the next manager is, I'd be on my way to Bilbao with a suitcase full of Euros. Complete number nine. Brilliant with his back to goal, wonderful touch, good finisher. Essentially that's the Berbatov replacement we've been waiting three years for. If for some absurd reason neither Barca, United or Citeh make their move for him, I'd pay whatever it takes for Llorente. Exactly what we need.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Didnt he want a reported 150k a week (could be tosh) if that is true then there is no chance. I am sure there are other players of this type out there, who we could get and fit into the 100k a week max wage packet.

Ffs when are people gonna wake and and realise players like that are WAY out of our league. We more than likely wont even be a CL team next season so why would he leave a double cup final reaching team to join us? He's got the likes of Barca, Madrid, City and United sniffing around him yet peoples think he will join us? The same applies to Hazard too by the way!!!

P.S. no offence intended OP, just generally speaking here about some of our delusional support.

Believe we had a chance two seasons ago, but for whatever reason it didn't happen.

But at the same time, some top players will have to make way if that is the case.

If he goes to Madrid then is either Benzema or Higuain on the way out? Same with City and as I said before, the likes of Adebayor, Dzeko and Balotelli will be available in my opinion in the summer.

Point is, clubs can't just hoard the best players - especially this country so whilst it's ever so unlikely that we would even match the asking price, let alone wage demands of someone like Llorente, who I have always advocated previously, it still can't be ruled out just because other clubs are linked with him as well.

I remember a couple of seasons ago therewas ITK that the powers that be thought he was too weak for the Premiership, when we were looking at him at the start of the season his value had soared.
I wish we could go for him but I think out of our League now.

After spending what felt like months explaining why Llorente'd be the best buy we'd ever make, I feel that now he's being acknowledged as the insane striker that he is I deserve some credit of clairvoyance.

Or rather: I KNEW HIM BEFORE HE WAS COOL.

Sorry man, tripping my tits off. Spent the whole of the Bilbao game dropping mescaline and topping it up with magic mushroom tea. Normal service will be resumed in the morning and I'll return to holding out hope that we sign Bendtner and make Saha and Nelsen's deals permanent ;)
