With two games left of the football league season, some of the promotion places have been claimed, but the majority remain up for grabs in a big way.

Championship
QPR still haven't claimed promotion mathematically after stuttering to two draws in their last two, whilst Norwich went back above Cardiff with a 96th winner against Derby at the weekend, Swansea in fourth are all but out of the running for automatic promotion, but remain in the play off positions alongside Welsh rivals Cardiff, Reading and Nottingham Forest. For a portion of Saturday, Millwall and Burnley also occupied a play off spot, and Leeds are only three points off sixth. Hull and Leicester would require a miracle set of results to make sixth.

At the bottom, Preston went down with a whimper after losing 1-0 to Cardiff at the weekend. Sheff Utd. preserved their Championship status for another week, at least, after coming back from 2-0 down against Reading to win 3-2, and S****horpe are level with Utd. on 41 points, for either of them to stay up, they would need favourable results from other games, as well as six points from six in their last two games, furthermore, they'd also need a big swing in goal difference.

Personally, I hope Norwich go up, they're my second team, and Lambert has done a fantastic job this season and as such, they're looking for their second successive promotion.

League One
Gus Poyet's Brighton are already up and can even hit the 100 point mark if they win their remaining two games after drawing away at Colchester's impressive Weston Homes' Stadium in the Monday lunchtime kick off. Southampton are in second, level on points with Huddersfield, but having played a game less and with a much superior goal difference. Their game in hand won't be easy, though, as they play a Plymouth side fighting for their lives at the bottom of the league. Peterborough, MK Dons and Bournemouth occupy the remaining play off places, with Leyton Orient not far off, being three points off as it stands. Rochdale and Exeter are still mathematically in the running for sixth but realistically it's not going to happen.

At the bottom, in the league where four teams go down, Swindon are already down. Plymouth (with their game in hand) are three points of 20th placed Walsall, with Dag & Red and Bristol Rovers sandwiched inbetween on 44. Notts County in 19th need a maximum of two points to stay up but that would only be if results went against them and they should be safe.

League Two
With three automatic promotion places in this league, Chesterfield and Bury are already guaranteed to go up, but as only two points seperate them, Bury could still win the league. Wycombe are in third with 74 points, guaranteed at least a spot in the play offs, Shrewsbury (73), Accrington (69), Stevenage and Gillingham (68) make up the play off spots, and Torquay are just behind on 67.

At the bottom, possibly the most depressing relegation for a club, Stockport are all but down, needing to win both of their remaining games, Northampton to lose theirs, as well as a 35 goal swing. Barnet are on 45 points, and above them, any of Northampton (46), Lincoln (47), Hereford (48) and Burton (49) could be caught. Morecambe, Macclesfield, Cheltenham and Bradford should all be safe on 51.

I used to go and watch Barnet when Spurs were away. Jason Lee, Danny Brown, Darren Currie, Ian Hendon etc. Fun team to watch

Hope Stevenage make play-offs and then go up, doing great considering this is there first season in the football league.

Westley the manager is a pretty unlikeable guy IMO, but he has done fantastic since he came back to the club.

Well done Barnet, can't believe they pulled it off! For those who don't know Barnet had to win at home against Port Vale (who have done pretty well this year) and hope Lincoln City lost. Which is exactly what happened! Barnet scored a penalty and won 1-0, Lincoln lost 3-0 against a team lower down the table.
