the game on sunday has a great resemblance with that game nearly 2 years ago in the FA cup. Everyone said Jol had 1 game remaining and if he lost he would be sacked.

we all know what happend next we thumped them 4-0 with agreat performance and i do believe to this day if we had lost Jol would have been sacked.

Now come sunday this seems to be the same scenario a win he stays a draw or lose i believe ramos has gone.

Our suport that day was out of this world i believe we have the right man for the job and we have the right players if we can get behind the boys like we always do and pick up that win we need our season will turn around.

I was there for the game and the crowd were truly amazing. I remember Martin having to walk across the Fulham pitch to get to the bench and he had a sky camera practically up his nose - it was a real invasion of his personal space - it felt like vultures circling him. We all pulled together, the team were amazing and we got the score we deserved. I am tempted at this point to mention how Berbatov was the icing on the delicious cake that day but that would be self-defeating.

That game best showcased what Keane and Berbatov were all about as a strike force.

Nearly impossible to replace, infact we probably wont be able to obtain such a leathal and potent strike force again.

What we need to is concentrate on making the midfield more creative and also have more goals in them. That way we can just have a couple of good finishes upfront to put away the chances created by a stronger midfield.

We will never get a front pairing with such creativity mixed with finishing abilty so whoever we play up top is going to need to be strongly supported by a goal creating and goal scoring midfield.

Did it? I think it best showcased Mido & Keane since Keane scored from two perfect Mido flick downs.

Berbatov grabbed two at the end after coming on, but the game way already won.

I didn't even remember Mido was playing that game.

My only lasting memory now is the goals 2 great ones each from Keane and Berbatov

It's easy to forget how much Mido contributed - obviously I loved him to bits - but even I forgot about him in that match. He's like the little girl who had a little curl - when he was good he was very very good......

I dont think Ramos will be sacked if we lose. Its not his fault that Berba and Keane left, its not his fault we didnt replace them properly, and its not his fault that most of our new players are taking time to settle in. To sack him would be unfair.

Absolutely right - but how depressing is this thread, when you look at what we had and how close we came? Maybe one day we'll do the same with this squad??

Absolutely.

I only hope that Arshavin joins in January and Pav has someone he ca talk to (and work with).

I remember not being able to watch this game on TV as we were travelling down to Essex to stay with the in-laws. Was made up when i got there and heard the score.

his goal against west ham at home, great finish!!!!

Mido's injury towards the arse end of that season probably cost us a champions league place more then the stomach virus and West Ham away game did.

That was the season before... I seem to remember Jol attributing that win in part to the fact that due to Feyenoord being kicked out of the UEFA Cup we'd had a whole week to train...

Dear oh dear, AM. His assists broke the stalemate and forced Fulham to attack instead of packing ten men behind the ball. Once they came out to play Jol just wheeled Berbatov on to take advantage of the open game and administer the coup de grace.
