Couldn't see one of these and thought it would be interesting to compare the results of this season's games, to their equivalent games last season.

The three promoted teams replace the three relegated teams. 18th (Leicester) = 1st in the Championship (Burnely), 19th (Leeds) = 2nd in the Championship (Sheff Utd), 20th (Southampton) = Playoff winner (Luton).

Brentford (a)2-2 D2-2 D00

There's been lots of talk about how our start was pretty similar to last season, or how we've only played teams at the bottom of the league/promoted teams, but to see the difference in points gained compared to the equivalent matches so far is pretty enlightening.

Great, I was actively looking for this thread in the Spurs chat forum, but couldn't find it.

Must admit I didn't think it would be so many more points gained over only 8 matches.

So if we match the games for the rest of the season, we end up with 71 points - enough for top 4 in two of the last nine seasons. 71 points would give 3rd in two of the last nine seasons, and 2nd in one season.

Safe to say, we are on a good course this year. I cannot see any way where we perform worse than last season for the rest of this season.

Injuries will be our potential problem

We did start well last year though, but you can see a huge difference on the pitch. It’s crazy after 8 games last year we had 3 points less. When we looked so shite.

6 points from pool and United and a draw to arsenal feels huge.

Keep this up for the rest of the season and we'll finish on a new points record of 112 points. Champions here we come! (y)

Yeah, winning the remaining 30 games and receiving two bonus points from the league for pissing off Liverpool supporters seems plausible

Updated the first post. A 2-0 win over Fulham matches the 2-1 win last season. We remain +11 points from matches against the same opposition, and +3 points after 9 games.

Yeah kinda crazy isn't it?

We had one loss in our opening 10 games last season, then lost 6 in the next 10.

In both game-for-game, and comparing gameweeks from last season our next four games last year were 1 win and 3 losses. So should be good opportunity.

Unless nicdic was lying my guess would be +9 game-for-game, +1 after number of games.

AFAIK the only match this season in which we've had a worse result compared to last season is Chelsea at home (2-0 vs. 1-4). So with that result (-3 points) and the City draw (+1 point), we're at +9 points compared by individual results.

My apologies friends.

Have updated the table with Chelsea, Wolves, Villa and City games...

Points difference vs same games: +9 points
Points difference after no. of games played: +4 points

Remarkably, the Chelsea game is the only match in which we have suffered a worse result than last season.

After 14 games we are are now 1 point better off than we were after 14 games last season. (27pts v 26pts)
The halfway point (19 games) is a good marker, essentially you have played all teams once. Had 33 points after 19 games last season, win our next 5 and we will have 42 points.

Last year we beat West Ham at home and lost at home to Newcastle. This season those results reversed, so we remain as we were.

Points difference vs same games: +9 points
Points difference after no. of games played: 0 points
