I might be alone in this, but good on Bale for rinsing them. Were it not for Madrid publically tapping him up I honestly don't think he'd have left us when he did. I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall Bale saying that he would only consider a move to Madrid at the time and their pursuit of him through the media forced the clubs hand to negotiate his exit.

It's not Bale's fault that Madrid targetted him and agreed to pay the highest transfer fee ever for him. It's not Bale's fault they agreed to make him one of the highest paid footballers in the world. It's not Bale's fault that Madrid then decided that they didn't want/need him.

He should squeeze every penny he can out of them.

He'd also be more of a threat in his normal role than all our attacking players.
