I doubt that there is a player around with a higher profile who’s willing to come than our Gareth. He’s different class to what we have. The only player that’s in the same league as him is Kane on top form. Bale would be as marquee as it gets.

This is far from honest knowledge though no? At the end of the day it's what we would really hope for but in reality we don't know what Bale is thinking or if he actually would want to come and whether we could do such a deal. He may just be desperate to still prove his worth at one of the biggest clubs in the world in Madrid, if not he may be seeking out a wage figure or signing on package that we just can't afford.

I personally wouldn't start thinking about such a transfer unless something quite concrete materialised.

I was on the fence about wanting him back, but the thought of him, Kane, Eriksen and Alli in our attack is exciting.

Opposition defenders would be less likely to double team Kane if Bale was running around out there too.

I’d love Bale back, cannot see it though. Also His injury record is concerning tbh, and the fact his wages would be far more than I can see Levy paying especially that our current squad need a boost themselves.

Yeah, and who knows he might be willing to meet us somewhere in between on salary.
Might be dreaming but it's good to dream right.

Are Bales injuries being exaggerated? I've just been looking at his stats and he's played 25 league games this season which means he's only missed twelve games and he's been dropped for some of those matches. He's definitely not on Andy Carroll's injury level and he's played the same amount of league games as Jordan Henderson over the last three years.

I’d have him in a heart beat he’s better than sonny and lamela so improves us massively. If there’s a deal to be done we have to go for it. He could win us a league.

Has there been any indication of the buy back clause and how much it was set at?

£50mill? Nah, that can’t be right, some sources have said Real want closer to £75mill for him, but due to injury we rate him at around £53mill.. So I’m not sure there would be all posturing if a pre arranged fee had been set at £50mill. For me though, anywhere between £50/80mill would be something we should go for. He showed again last night just how good he is. It’d be Tottenham’s biggest ever purchase, in more ways than one.

The frustrating this is we would of won something by now if we just spent our money more wisely.

Instead of buying squad fillers like: Janssen, Nkoudou, and Sissoko. We could of used that £50-60m to get a genuine quality player who would of helped us far more than those three combined.

I hope Levy and Poch have learnt from this.

We couldn’t have afforded that kind of established star who would have guaranteed silverware, transfer fee maybe, wages no.

There was ITK recently which said that the price to us was written in the contract and is, therefore, set in stone. There is doubt about his fitness and the wages would be an issue as he is reportedly on €600,000 per week.

All that said I'd love him back. Just imaging the park the bus teams trying to cope with the power of his long range shots! They just have to give up and go home! :wideyed:

Wow if it's that low it's a no brainer

Plus something is clearly wrong with him as even despite scoring 2 excellent goals last night he barely celebrated and looked seriously pissed when taken off... he’s been like that the last few months, looked really unhappy.
