What I meant is that Bale gets paid same wages as Kane et al, but he gets an initial £10-20 million upfront payment to offset his current weekly wage. In that way he’s retained within our wage structure.
I’m would’ve thought anything is possible in such a multi-billion pound entertainment industry?
you don’t think Kane would want the same 10-20 million ?

Yea. But what if he didn’t find out; or bale gets a end of contract pay-off. Not too dissimilar to the way his contract was made ‘officially less’ than Ronaldo’s but in fact cost Real Madrid more in transfer to not dent Ronaldo’s ego etc.

There are reports Real take a good chunk of Bale's sponsorship money he makes. A simple way to give him more money without breaking the wage structure as much would be to give him a bigger amount in that.

All the agents will know what a contract is worth and how it is being paid. You can’t keep those sorts of secrets. Kane will want parity and would leave IMO if he didn’t get it. Kane is far more important to us than Bale ever was.

I think it’s fair to say that when we sold him and had that first refusal option in the contract, most of us would have been hoping there might be a chance to get him at 32/33 - but to possibly get him at just turning 29 & heading into the new stadium would be a thing of dreams. Wet dreams.

So from reading information here it depends on Neymar leaving for Real? Someone should hack Cavani's account and call Neymar a prick on twitter this can then speed up the process.

I love the optimism in this thread! It’s infectious. I’d love to see him run out for us at the new stadium. Will be amazed if it happens though.

Players can't have everything they want. They can't demand better players and then start crying that they've received a signing on bonus.

We wouldn't pay a £20m signing on bonus anyway.

Wow Guys what a team we could be next season

So are you saying we don’t need Bale?

I would love for him to return, him and Kane would scare the shit out of any defence, if he signed I think we would be the closest rivals to City next season and potentially push further into the CL. Its the one thing this team has lacked since he left, a player who can just pick the ball up and run at a defence and smash it in. So many times this season we have had teams park the bus against us.

Cant remember who it was but in his final season, weren’t we 0-0 against a team at WHL (late on) and Bale just picked it up and smashed it in? I know he did it against City but thought there was someone else.

Why is thread still going on ? We will never match his current 300k a week salary. We may be ready spend big on a player but big transfer fee + 300k a week ? Not Happening ...

I don’t think this transfer will happen. But there’s no reason we’d have to pay the same wage as he has at Real.

We arent paying half his wage to any Spurs player now...Kane's new contract (if there is one) may touch 200k but thats it. Unless we start paying our own squad players market salary, sorry cannot see how we will get Bale.
