Gary Neville says that Mauricio Pochettino has transformed the culture at Tottenham by instilling a work ethic.

Agree with him to be honest, regarding personnel. It's brought a new dynamic to the club.

Nice article, it's good to read some positive stuff about Spurs. We really need to use this victory over City as our benchmark of what we are capable of doing and build upon it for the season.

Good article and all fair points I think. Neville in my opinion is the best pundit out there at present, I love listening to him on MNF always very insightful

I agree the work ethic and foundation look stronger than when he took over and things feel more optimistic.

Seems too much focus on out running opponents. For me it is not necessarily an indicator of improvement, just the style of football we are employing.

I wonder how many times the Chavs out ran their opposition last season.

Nevertheless agree with the overall sentiment.

The work ethic has changed but he had to change the personnel around a bit to do it.Remember that part of the reason he was hired was to get the best out of the players who were there at time. The overwhelming majority of players now are on board with his philosophy. But once again it is early in the season, we've drawn with clubs like Stoke and Leicester. I wouldn't say the flimsiness has gone yet

I like what he has done and, presumably, will continue to do. Only 4 players from that team played on Saturday, 2 more are still at the club and 5 have gone. They have been replaced by younger, more hungry players including our own academy youth players. It is the foundation for success. It's what United did years ago and enabled them to buy only one or two each season. Let's hope we can emulate that

Think Saturday was the first time Poch has ever been able to field what he considers his strongest starting XI. Long may it continue!

 Whatever. Neville changes his tune more often than Spotify. Next dodgy result and he'll be critical of him again.

This is a very good point.

He has had to change the players to get the team playing the way he wants. But unlike AVB he wasnt asking for millions to be spent on players to fill the squad. He's shipped out expensive non-performers and promoted youth. That has to be considered a success in its own right.

To a certain extent it can be argued that we are employing the same philosophy that Guardiola's Barca employed by suffocating the oppositions attacking play.

I think where we lack is the creating of gaps and clear opportunities. This is being remedied with the direct running of Alli and Son in recent matches

The question for me is would he have promoted youth if he had 100 million to spend.

You and others probably will not be surprised at my view that I think AVB was led to believe he could get top notch players,

I think AVB got the bum end of a deal to be honest.

But not for the purchases, i think so because he should have been supported by Levy when the situation with Adebayor occurred.

Neville is quite a good observer of the game and certainly see some insightful stuff during the game that the average fan simply does not see.

I don't know where to post this, but does anyone know a good surgeon? I split my sides laughing at the Champions' League results tonight.
