I really hope Pool don't get Nabia Ketia, he is a world class talent. Seriously good. Would raise Pools quality significantly. I would rather they kept Coutinho hen sell him and get Ketia.

The fees are just ridiculous now. It got to the point where I shrugged my shoulders at the Sanchez fee as if it was normal. I had a heart attack when we paid 17m for Paulinho and 28m for Soldado. Now Man City are bidding over 25m for Johnny Fucking Evans. What's the world coming to?

So I had a couple of posts deleted from the daily ITK thread and now the thread is locked, but I didn't know if that meant that it is only locked to me or if it's locked for everyone? If someone gets banned, are they banned from all rooms or are they banned from a specific thread? Can they still read thread and not post? Any help would be great, thanks.

It looks like its been locked and moved to the archive sub forum so there will be a new thread tomorrow.

PSG foot the bill for the release payoff. That payment is included in the FFP calculations. If it weren't, then every transfer involving exercising a release clause would be FFP exempt, which they are not.

As has been noted - Qatar Sports Investment signed Neymar to be its Qatar 2022 ambassador - gave him a tax-free contract for 300M to be an ambassador for 5 years.

Neymar then took that money, and wrote a check to Barça to buy out his own contract.

Now, its making a farce of FFP - because Qatar Sports Investments also owns PSG - but the ambassador contract is with Neymar - when he was with Barcelona. So, it will be a legal argument that PSG does not have to report those funds within its FFP filings.

ETA - in most cases, the clubs do loan the money to the player to buy out the contract, and those funds are included - but this is slightly different, in that Neymar will theoretically have to "earn" the money by doing things to promote Qatar 2022. It would be interesting to see what would happen if Qatar lost the WC...

I don't know hope reliable it is, but heard they've attempted to to a loan deal for mbappe? I presume this is to get around FFP.

Liverpool fans getting all cocky because they think they have agreed terms with Kovacic... ignoring the fact that the report came from Don Balon. :ROFLMAO:

Barca were asking for that bid for Coutinho to be rejected, who are they kidding? acting like Levy was bidding for him!

Pool know the got £200m straight up cash for Neymar, how they can only offer something like £18m up front is boarding on insulting.

Up that cash up front offer and he will be there man.

Barcelona to make new £138m bid for Philippe Coutinho. Coutinho more determined than ever to leave Liverpool. Barcelona "will never give up"

Barcelona fourth bid for Philippe Coutinho expected to be £101m up front plus £37m in add ons linked to Champions League appearances

I don't know how great a negotiating tactic offering more money and saying "we'll keep coming back (presumably with even more money) if we are turned down" is....

I'm no expert but if that is the strategy and you have now told everyone on earth why the fuck would Pool take the new offer?

Just keep saying no until it hits an even stupider sum of money....

Don't care how important people think Coutinho is to Liverpool, he's not THAT important. I was a fan of his from age 16 when he joined Inter, and knew Liverpool were getting an absolute bargain when they signed him. We should have been in on that but had recently just purchased Eriksen and Lamela.

However, 138m is an absolutely ludicrous amount of money. Barcelona have lost their minds. Coutinho will not make them any better, imo. They'd be more prudent to A) spend it elsewhere or B) bank the money for a season and keep their powder dry until next summer.

Likewise Liverpool who should bank the money quickly and simply wait a window or season then use it more effectively. Just my opinion, but he is not integral to the way they play, unlike Eriksen for us. Pace is their best weapon offensively, whereas guile is ours.

The only reason that Liverpool should reject is if they think Barca have lost their minds so badly that they will somehow offer more. Whoever is making the decisions at Barcelona should be immediately fired or voted out.

I agree. Don't think Liverpool *need* him. They have areas of weakness they could address by selling Coutinho - defence, replacing Sturridge, goalie - and not lose much going forward. Mane and Salah are more dangerous than Coutinho, albeit in a different way. 130m+ is insane for him. For both clubs; Liverpool to reject and Barca to offer.

Similarly, don't think Barca *need* him and they have far bigger problems as well. I've also read a French station saying they only turned to Seri after fans mentioned it on Twitter, which seems crazy. Their key players are 30 or over now and they seem to be ignoring the talents in the youth team in favour of signing players we'd consider poor compared to their previous squads - Paulinho for one, Turan and Andre Gomes have been disappointing as well. They lost Keita Balde to Lazio because they punished him for putting an ice cube in a teammate's bed (OH NO!), loaned him out and he didn't want to go back. They've been losing youth prospects to Man City for a while as well..

I'd also agree that Liverpool should hold off on replacing Coutinho for a window or two, January is never the best either. They were going to get fleeced for Naby Keita and you can see that price increasing once Coutinho moves on, if they were to go back to Leipzig and ask again. Maybe next summer will be different... or a different prospect will present itself.
