Like, why would you want to play in front of 9,000 people every other week, if it's not about money? Blast him anyway. I had a bad feeling about his character these last few days.

He's joining the French champions, who got to the semi-finals of the Champions League last year.

How does Sanchez fit into Citys already crowded attacking options at least one of them has to be moved out, Pep can't keep them all happy surely?

This is what paying obscene wages does. You can keep world class players happy on the bench. I don't understand why some of our fans don't realise this when saying things like we need 4 top quality strikers.

I'm completely serious @cliff jones - for a business head like Levy it seems absolutely mental to me that he continually makes the same mistake in biding his time in the transfer market and waiting until the end of the window when the margin for error is so tight. I get that there is some money to be saved on deals if you leave them until late in the window, but that is surely offset by the reality that players we sign late in the window invariably fail. Even if as a fan it annoyed me, I could at least understand the business sense in our approach if it meant bigger profits, but I really don't see how it can.

Gundogan and Toure aren't going to be competing with Sanchez though.

No but they need to get in the team and Pep has been playing De Bruyne and Silva as CMF's so they are competing with Gudogan and Toure for their spots so either way you look at it he's gonna have a job on to keep them all happy but I suspect that playing for a club who can pay you a lot of money would go some way in doing that.

They play on top of an eight-story-car park, they get eight or nine thousand fans through the gate, they have sold a heap of their best players, the French league is not really where it's at. I find it bizarrre, to be quite honest with you.

Do you think they will have a good season this time around?

Who knows, they've lost a lot of good players so you would say maybe not, but then their business model - like Atletico and Dortmund - is designed with that in mind. They flog their best players for huge profits and sign highly-rated youngsters. Sell Bakayoko, buy Tielemans. Sell Lemar, buy Balde. Sell Mendy having already bought Jorge. There's no reason to think they will be shit this year whatsoever - they probably won't win the league given PSG have strengthened further, but there's no reason whatsoever to think they'll collapse because of the players they've lost. You could have said the same thing in previous summers when they lost Ferreira-Carrasco, Kondogbia, Martial, Kurzawa, Rodriguez and Falcao, but last season was their best in years.

I'm not saying they are a better draw than Tottenham, but it's very arrogant to claim the only thing they have over us is money and so only greedy players would choose them over us; they are currently a better and more successful side than us, they arguably offer a better quality of life (personally I fucking hated Monaco when I had the 'privilege' of visiting there for a day and would take London every time, but for some people it's paradise on earth) AND on top of that they can offer more money. I would say they're also a better bet for players who expect to end up at one of the elite clubs, as their business model actively invites bids from top clubs whereas players who want to leave Tottenham invariably find their lives made incredibly difficult (Modric, Bale, Berbatov etc).

Monaco arent exactly a club that throws money at players, since their owners divorce they have been living within their means and building a good young core and probably the best play to develop as a player at the moment

Maxwell Cornet has been linked to Roma in a 20 million Euro move and there was speculation that Dortmund would go after him as a Dembele replacement. We should step in and vie for his signature if Lyon are willing to sell him. He is still only 20 years old. In the latter half of the 2015-2016 season, he scored 7 goals in 12 league matches as a 19-year old and looked like he would be a potential star. His name was mentioned with the likes of Ousmane Dembele as the brightest prospects in Ligue 1. He had a difficult 2016-2017 with some injuries, but he has the profile of what we are looking for. Dynamic pace, dribbling, two footed and can play as a wing-forward or as a striker.

I also wish we had gone for Jovetic. Monaco just signed him for 10 million pounds. He was fantastic for Sevilla in the latter part of his loan there last season and he has the footballing intelligence to have been a key squad member.

How the hell was the cornet bloke's name not thrown around when JJ was doing the Cornetto cryptic!?

Chelsea have signed Eden Hazard’s brother, Kylian Hazard. He joins from Hungarian side Ujpest and will link up with Chelsea’s development squad. Hazard featured 42 times for Ujpest after arriving from Zulte Waregem in the summer of 2015.
Eden has said quite a few times that he is the most talented out of his brothers. Be intresting to see how he develops.... on lone for the next 10 years.

Rejected first bid. He will go for 65m probably. I really can't see Sterling leaving for Arsenal. He's playing well right now and will fight for his place I reckon.

When I look at Arsenal and West Ham, a few tough weeks for Spurs don't seem so bad

I'd rather try and fight my way into the City side than go to Arsenal and tell Pep to do one, absolutely ridiculous management from Pep.

I know right, when you think of the success this club was and the high esteem this club was held before Levy came along with his fiscal common sense and completely fucked us up, it makes you weep.

What wry, sledgehammer wit. I acknowledged literally in the first sentence that he's an excellent businessman, that's why it's so baffling that he persists with an approach to the transfer window that consistently fails to pay off.
