Hazard is a massive massive downgrade on Ronaldo though. He’s never produced numbers anywhere near him.
Yeah, but if you can have a forward who can actually bang in goals it isn't a bad move to add 2 players like that. 100mil for 33 year old Ronaldo is good business for Madrid, especially when they can go out and splash cash on legitimate replacements.

Its basically Hazard and Icardi potentially greater than Ronaldo. I think its a smart move. They've just won 3 CL's in a row but need better (not saying either are better than Ronaldo), younger and more consistent attacking players for the league. Ronaldo went through quite a dry patch for the first half of the season, with only 4 league goals through the middle of January. Getting younger isn't a bad idea for them.

Huge signing for Juve and Italian football.

Really surprised that Utd weren't all over this considering their MO in recent years.

This is an incredible transfer. Will be so strange seeing him in a Juve kit. Never would have thought Juventus would have been the team he would have moved to.

Actually not entirely true if you base on their PL experiences.

Ronaldo at United - 84 goals in 196 appearances - 0.42 goals per game
Hazard at Chelsea - 69 goals in 208 appearances - 0.33 goals per game

Yes, there's a difference but it's not as big as you may be suggesting.

What a bizarre transfer. How have Juventus got the money to do this? Surely there are better ways to spend €105 million?

Madrid must be laughing. Their squad can't do it over a season, but still win the CL. They need expensive fresh blood. So Juventus give them €105m and take about 400k pw off their wage bill, leaving them to buy a couple of younger galacticos.

This is quite an extraordinary transfer. If I recall correctly, Ronaldo's transfer to Real Madrid was about €95 mill and he's now gone to Juventus for €105 mill at the age of 33. Surely there are other players that they could've spent this amount on and younger players. Purely for entertainment and sale of kits

Even the kit argument doesn't make sense. There's no way Juventus will even make a quarter of his transfer fee.

Bet Ronaldo wanted to push through this move this week to pull some attention away from the World Cup.
