I don't see the Messi to Chelsea thing having any legs. Barcelona just lost their CAS appeal meaning they can't register any new players until the January, 2016 window. Are we suddenly to believe their response would be to sell their best player and pocket the cash? Would be shocked.

I don't know what's funnier, the fact that people have linked Messi with Chelsea, or the fact that people are giving the story an ounce of credibility.

I'd take him for us.
I might too, I'm not saying he's shit, I'm just saying he's shitter than he could be if he hadn't went to City.

Sinclair signed a four-year contract with champions Manchester City on 31 August 2012.[42] He was given the number 11 shirt for the 2012–13 Premier League season. He made his debut on 15 September 2012, playing 74 minutes of a 1–1 draw away to Stoke City.[43] He started against Arsenal on 23 September, coming off at half-time and was thereafter relegated to the bench. He made only one further start all season, away at Dortmund in the Champions League group stage on 4 December, with both teams' final position already decided. His twelve other appearances that season were all coming on late from the bench. His final appearance of the season came as an 83rd minute substitute on 21 April 2013, in a 3-1 loss away to Tottenham Hotspur. On 8 May, he had surgery on a blood clot in his shoulder. As a result he was ruled out for any remaining games, ending a disappointing season that finished with the winger only making 3 starts among a meagre 15 appearances for the club.[44] In total, he played 190 minutes of league football, less than three full matches.[45]

Shocking season.

Then he went on a season long loan to WBA, which I had no idea about.

On 22 August 2013, it was announced that Sinclair had joined West Bromwich Albion on a season-long loan, with the option to complete a permanent deal. Sinclair found it hard to break in the team mostly playing in reserve team matches.[46]

He was so fucked from the season before, he couldn't even break into WBA's team. Bloody hell lad. I think I'd have to think hard before I'd take him.

You do if you need to up your Home Grown quota....

To stop any other club from getting the same player at a more realistic price.
Chelsea have a reputation of buying players only to never stick them on the field, just so other clubs don't get them. City starting to look like they are taking that approach too.

Bony for £30 million?! Once Aguero is fit he won't even play, and Dzeko is a better fit for them anyway.

I think restrictions needs to be put in place to prevent teams like City and Chelsea stockpiling players

The 25 man squad is a good rule but clubs like this are simply abusing the loan system to negate this

There should be a cap on the amount of loan deals a club can send players on in a season, or at least loan deals for players either over a certain age or brought in from another club (or both) to avoid Chelsea and Man City hoovering up anyone with any potential to stop other clubs benefitting from such deals and then simply loaning them out to bring them in if they're a success or sell on if not

It's fine to do it with a couple of players but there should surely be a restriction on the amount of players this can be done with

I personally find the Lampard situation odd, surely there should be restrictions on clubs with the same owner moving players between one another like they have - perhaps the intentions should be outlined in the initial agreement between the clubs, and submitted to the FA, so if they are planning on loaning the player out straight away then the FA must be made aware of that prior to the transfer going ahead.

Lets hope so!

Gotta keep Lloris for as long as possible...

From the three or four people i've spoken to who i trust on the matter, the Lloris family are really quite happy here, so hopefully as long as we are still competing in the top six and showing ambitions for higher i don't see why we'd be looking to sell, short of a £40m+ offer.

And that's not going to happen.

Enrique refuses to answer questions regarding a fallout with Messi. Barcelona's president to speak later today in a media conference. If Messi went to the president and said either he goes or I go, I think Enrique would be shown the door before they get rid of Messi!

Agree - as @AmericanSpur said, they can't sign anyone until next January, so why would they sell their best player?!
However, it's just another case of player power.... It's the manager's decision who should play, and to an extent I understand why Messi was left out. Putting Neymar, Messi & Suarez in the same starting XI guarantees nothing. It's about being adaptable to a situation.
I'm sure had Barca not lost the game this wouldn't even be an issue.

So...we're all looking at the Valdes to United transfer and muttering sagely about De Gea to Real, right?

In a way I'm glad De Gea gets overhyped because he's a United player. It means interest in Lloris is quieter.

Bony to City JUST because Aguero is currently injured? You fucking tool Wilfried if you do. Aguero is injured NOT dead! Translation, he WILL come back.

He's being brought in as a replacement to Negredo.

Remember Negredo played in 48 matches (30+ in PL) last season. Pelligrini likes using 2 strikers when everyone is healthy so plenty of room for for him to play.
