I don't think it's odd that ManC could be interested in signing with Alves and Walker. If true it makes reasonable sense, as we've seen at Spurs, having two decent FB's in a system that is heavily dependent on them is pretty sensible.

@mpickard2087 I've been banging on about us sending our best kids over to France for ages. Perfect environment (as is Germany). Football is always played the right way, plenty of protection from refs, a high fan tolerance of young players (due to economic necessity) and good coaching.

Or we, and others, could just play them?...

I don't see this as a good thing, I think West Ham are just being incredibly fucking lazy, risk averse (if it's even a risk to begin with...), and I would hope English football gets away from this mindset.

Absolutely, you know how I feel about this, the misplaced risk aversion here really pisses me off, but in the absence of that you could actually loan kids out to French teams much younger as teenagers playing there is far more normal and at least they'd be getting some proper football and not the shit kicking, tactical ineptitude they'd get being loaned into the Championship or League 1 and 2.

Even with the best will in the world and the odd player or two getting more minutes for our first team, it's still something I think would benefit these kids, broaden their horizons etc. whilst learning things better than they will from coming off the bench to be kicked up in the air for 15 minutes at Yeovil.

Wow.

Firstly, I didn't realise they'd signed him

And secondly, surely they should have picked that up in the medical.

Liverpool & Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

When it comes to Liverpool news, few journalists are more in-the-know that Paul Joyce, and on Tuesday morning the Times reporter has delivered bad news to Reds fans.

In a blow to supporters’ hopes, it’s been confirmed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not be joining Liverpool this summer.

I swear there's one of these about every single star player in the world.

Agreed. I have their Gary Doherty effort from the turn of the Century; on Betamax.

Goals against Orient, Goons and Sunderland. Quite the player - and woulda been the star in a team with lightweights including Berger and McAllister.

Tossers.

According to France Football Januzaj is being sold to Real Sociedad for approx 10 mil.

Hopefully it's the reboot of his career that he needs

A transfer fee of around a £1m more than they paid for Andy Carroll? A small price to pay to consign their 'most expensive signing ever' into the dustbin of history.
