Brighton playing a dangerous game. They are trying to move up the food chain and not sell to bigger clubs but then that means players will be less reluctant to go to Brighton
I disagree. They're not exactly targeting the next big thing. They're targeting unknowns who would be grateful for the exposure. Worse come to worse, some players might ask for release clause to be inserted into their contracts.

They'll have two very unhappy players now. I hope they know what they are doing.

Whoever is Caicedos agent is up there with Charlie Kane,
January - Brighton reject Arsenal 70m bid, Caicedo publicly says he wants to leave
March- signs a new 4 year deal with seemingly no release clause.
July - Possibly missing out on the move because Brighton want 100m

Same agent as Zaha?
Who was also so keen to keep signing new contracts that he kept pricing himself out of moves but still wanted to leave at least once a year.
Now he's free and seemingly nobody wants him... 🤣

He got £2m signing on fee and has gone from £128k per week to £107 per week at Galatasaray.

Probably not as much as he thought he would get, but it's not a shit deal.

I'd pay him more than £107 per week to do a few odd jobs and a bit of gardening.

Edit; It would be in his employment contract though that I could give him a good kicking every now and then (for old time's sake).

Yeah, not a bad deal at all but it's not the level it could have been had he moved on the multiple times he previously wanted to.
Bit of a shit league too.

Yeah but you failed to include he was on less than 10k a week. He was paid a horrendous wage for his level of talent. No 70m premier league player should be on that money

That’s true, then we could also argue could he survive on just 10k a week for another 6 months so he can get his dream move and be paid appropriately then.

My mate has just told me Callum Hudson-Odoi may be Fulham bound for £4m. £4m quid ? Has he got a bad injury or something ? Or has he just been off the boil for that long ?
For me this is a player that needs the right environment that will thrive. I think he is w wonderful player.

Couple of injuries but has really fallen off, spent last season on loan at leverkusen and got 1 assist I think, still only 22/23 so at 8m he could be a decent squad player.

Wow. I must confess there was a point 2 or so seasons ago where I was convinced he was better than Sancho and would go onto be a special player.
If he has fallen off a cliff then I suppose one need to analyse why before thinking about whether we should pursue signing him but blimey that looks a gamble almost worth taking ...

Didn’t Chelsea reject 70m or so back when he was coming through then got his injury and slowly downhill from there.
