Let's rub it in and offer him to come back as backup to Hutton and Gunter.

As I said in another thread... He was a good servant to Tottenham and had nothing but good things to say about us when he left. I'm glad we managed to prove him wrong (as well as Newcastle), but I still have a lot of respect for him.

I remember being at the Lane when we beat Liverpool 2-1 (we were 1-0 down) and Stevie Carr was MOTM. I've never before or since seen an entire game where a side moved every single attack through their right-back. He was immense.

However, he then got injured and came back as a quasi-mongoloid spanner and we got rid of him at a great time. His 'moving to win medals' comment will long live in all our minds, I'm sure. Sweet, sweet shadenfraude (sp?).

He was great before he got injured, was often touted as the best RB in the league and was linked with Barca. But, once he came back he was never the same and lived of his reputation. Yet, somehow he even got voted into the PFA team of the year!

I liked him at Spurs but he hardly shone at Newcastle.

Hope he goes to Sunderland and feels at home there

I still think he looks like an angry Graham Norton! Always has done and always will do!

Do you think they waited for us to win a trophy before getting rid of him? How unkind.
