Yo,

with regards to all the expected transfer activity this summer, I'd imagine there will be an inevitable lull in transfers while the Euros are on as players will be tied up with international duty.

This poses the question of whether its better to dive in early and pick up our targets prior to the Euros, or wait until after the Eurso have ended?

The pros of getting in early are we may pick up players who bigger clubs haven't yet made their minds up about and whose value could rocket after a strong showing for their country. The con is that we could spend £10m (or £16.5 in Modric's case) on a player who then breaks his leg for his country and can't play for us until March.

So what do you guys reckon? and what do you think Ramos will do? Get in quick or wait until July?

I think get in early.

Aplayer can get injured anytime, and they all want to play for their country.

A good tournament can add millions to a price, Im starting to think Modric will look very good value by the end of the summer.

Neither nor, or either or. Basically, identify the players you want and get them the best way you can.

Get them in as soon as possible, if we waited on Modric and he lead Croatia to the final we would'nt have got a look in.

Now for sure for incomings.

For shifting the deadwood I think early isn't necessarily better though. Getting a few clubs bidding against each other is never a bad thing.

Must but early so they can have plenty of time to get used to one another. and don't want last minute panic buys again.

Whilst my own opinion is also to get the signings sorted early (not least so they get as full a pre-season under their belts as possible) is there not the possibility that, in doing so, we then can't identify any new targets while the competition is going (i.e any young players who have thus far slipped under the radar), as we'll have already blown our budget by the middle of June?

I must also point out that I think Juande will have spent another £15m by the start of the Euros as he'll have identified his top targets weeks ago and Comolli SHOULD already be on the case.

On the flip side, if we can hold on to a player like Berba until after after the Euros. Other clubs may have their attentions turns elsewhere by fantastic performances from strikers like Benzema, Villa, or someone of that ilk
