This is the absolute minimum we should be doing without selling Kane. How would the be acceptable for anyone?
To play devils advocate - because the attack is already fine without Kane, having added two good players, and we would now be sorting the defence

It represents a net improvement.

Yes, I’d like one more good attacking player, but I’d be OK with the situation if that’s how we landed

What do you suggest as an alternative? Do you have some hidden masterplan that will solve all of our issues in one fell swoop and guarantee us Champions League football?

Thought not.

We aren’t in a good position, and we have to make the best out of it. We can do that by changing the focus of the team from an incredible striker, to a more balanced team approach, with goals spread more evenly across the players. We also desperately need to improve the defence, so a couple of good CBs would definitely help.
Haha.

You don’t have to be snarky about it.

I think the minimum I would expect if Kane goes is VDV and Tapsoba along with a forward. If Kane goes and we bring back Lenglet that is an absolute joke imo.

Of course change it to a balanced team, I wasn’t questioning the change of focus to a more balanced team. More the quality of player mentioned.

Gift or ban was what A&C said to me when I didn't get him a christmas present.

Hates Arsenal too...

Although this quote may disqualify us.

Hope these comments are taking way out of context or in a sentence of a joke, no matter if it is Arsenal he is talking about here, it is probably because we are not even in his mind. He just comes of like a proper tool if you say things like this after more or less being a professional for 1 year.

The striker situation I can live with if we bring in a very talented young player. From what I understand about Agne's system, Richy is made for it. What I can't accept is Lenglet or Tosin if Kane goes.

Perhaps that reflects how he was coached and played……
Coached to be offside every time? Or to miss some pretty easy chances? I've no doubt he'll improve I just can't understand moving backwards so far from last year up front.

Watched some clips of this lad last night and he looks great. The sort of finisher who can be effective anywhere although I don't know if his all round game is good enough

Tosin would make sense for a homegrown requirement. Not as first choice though. If we sell Kane our homegrown 8 would be Forster, Spence, Sess, Davies, Rodon, Tanganga, Skipp, Maddison. At least one of those has to go really. Otherwise we would have to keep all those horrible defenders. Other homegrown players we get linked too are too expensive so Tosin actually makes sense as a cheap upgrade on Tanganga or Rodon. We're also too high above the 17 non homegrown so adding 2 non homegrown defenders would probably make it difficult to add a non homegrown forward. I think I'd take Taposba with Tosin if it allows a non homegrown forward as homegrown forwards will be way overpriced.

How are we supposed to not move backwards? There is no one else at Kane's level.

Another reason why we should have bought Raya as he is HG.

one of the best gks in the league and resolves a huge hg issue we have had brewing for some time.

it is also why we are interested in Brennan from forest.

ridiculous that we are having to buy players due to hg issues rather than them being suited to what we need.

Brennan, Alex Scott, tosin are all going to be of interest due to this.

Really eze and guehi would make more sense but that would mean parting with decent money.

It's not surprising to see him linked, if I was Scott Munn drawing up a list of young replacements Orban would certainly feature. I'm sure we've all done our lists, but my "realistic" list in preferential order would probably be:

1st Muani (24)
2nd Ramos (22)
3rd Gouiri (23)
3rd Wahi (20)
4th Ferguson (18)
4th Orban (21)
5th Moukoko (18)
5th David (23)
6th Adeyemi (21)
6th Thuram (25)

- Openda (23) (ship has sailed but watch him shine at RB Leipzig)

a bit older but HG
3rd Toney (27)
4th Watkins (27)
