It's not surprising to see him linked, if I was Scott Munn drawing up a list of young replacements Orban would certainly feature. I'm sure we've all done our lists, but my "realistic" list in preferential order would probably be:

1st Muani (24)
2nd Ramos (22)
3rd Gouiri (23)
3rd Wahi (20)
4th Ferguson (18)
4th Orban (21)
5th Moukoko (18)
5th David (23)
6th Adeyemi (21)
6th Thuram (25)

- Openda (23) (ship has sailed but watch him shine at RB Leipzig)

a bit older but HG
3rd Toney (27)
4th Watkins (27)
If we are looking for players to replace Kane I wouldn’t have minded us going for Tammy Abraham (pre injury)
That said I’m not sure he fits the mould for an Ange striker either

I’d have Jonathan David higher up than moukoko though.

Didn’t thuram sign for inter?

As ever - i seriously wonder if those players are actually better than Richi

If not, let's let Richi have a shot at being first choice, and spend either on a young back up, or a winger/striker

You're right Thuram definitely moved to Inter, my bad.

Something about Jonathan David irks me. I think he might struggle in a stronger league with better marking, plus his stats are boosted by a lot of penalties. Moukoko, on the other hand, would be coming from a stronger league and has that dynamite quick finish thing along with the long shots. In fact I might even put him up to 4th 😁

Ok fair enough
No problem with that

Do think the best options are English (Toney/Watkins/Abraham) but appreciate they might not fit stylistically
Let’s be honest no one knows how richarlison will fare (he certainly won’t score 30 goals /15+ assists) so we absolutely need a credible alternative.

it’s also a risk to expect that son will get back to 2021/22 form so whilst hopefully we will sign a couple of CBS and concede 20 less goals, it’s highly likely we will score less too without Kane in the side.

Tottenham also reports for Gift Orban (AA Gent)

Gift Orban (21) is hot. Nice clubs already knocked on the door with Lens and Lille, but Tottenham: that's something else. The English top club is also interested in the Ghent striker and has reported to his entourage.

At Tottenham, they are of course taking into account a departure from attack leader Harry Kane (30), as Bayern Munich is pulling his sleeve. The Spurs themselves are therefore fully looking for a new (or extra) striker and Orban is an important name on the list.

After his 20 goals in just 22 games after the winter break, Orban is coming off a fantastic season and has started the new season well. Both in the Conference League against Zilina and in the competition opener against KV Kortrijk, he was at the forefront. It goes without saying that Hein Vanhaezebrouck would like to keep him, but especially now that clubs like Tottenham are jumping into the dance, they realize at Ghent that it won't be easy. If Orban, who is committed to 2027, eventually leaves, they hope to get a record amount out of the fire at the Buffalos. That is now in the name of Jonathan David (23), who went to Lille for 27 million. Another 4 million will be added if David ever makes a transfer.

So they would want more than the 23 million GBP estimate they got for David... I see that as a stumbling block personally. Unless we value him at 25?

I know this is a just a Google translate, but they way it's been phrased is hilarious.

Gift Orban is hot 😂

The passive agressievness of telling David to hurry up and transfer so they can get an extra 4m 😂

Seems like the plan if Kane goes is Tapsoba, VDV & Orban. If he doesn't then who knows? Perhaps just one CB?

The best plan is to sign them all but keep Kane. Loan Orban this season and if Kane leaves we have him and Richarlison for next season.

That makes too much sense to buy him and loan him to a more competitive league like France or the Netherlands. Which means we won't do it...

Raw. Physically weak, gets brushed of by CBs often. So, he likes to move away from CBs and play away from pressure. These are his negatives in the single season, where he also scored 20+ goals and quickest hatrick (in 3 minutes) in UEFA competition.

His rise & story is amazing though. Only 21, started playing pro football only a year back.

He is not from a known academy. His movement in box for his goals is all his raw ability. He will need lot of coaching.

For all the negatives I pointed out, there are lot of good. He will be a gamble, if we comes in as Kane replacement
