But why are we doing things in a different way? Oh, because of the financials involved. If the root to success is greater with top talent across the team, why wouldn't we take this route? The revenue we take in from the ground is astronomical.

There's no excuse.
Ultimately if we have less money though, it’s not something we can do anything about. We could take a lot more risk - arguably we should have done - but we can’t make money just appear unless the owners inject it into the club.

That’s only really happened at Chelsea, City and Newcastle.

Orherwise it needs to made from the revenue the clubs bring in

I think our approach to buying young talent is a world apart from Chelsea. Yes they finished below is last season, but even so, they're still prepared to spend about €350m this year on the best young talent available. That figure doesn't include Enzo and Mudryk. Personally, I think at 25-30m Orban is they type of player we should be looking at, even if Kane had stayed as it gives us long term options, rather than splashing 10-20m on your Clarke's and Spence's. I think the difference with Levy is, he wants to buy a young player with potential for relatively cheap so he will be worth more when sold on, whereas Chelsea aren't considering the sell on as they intend to build a young team to hopefully dominate for years to come.
I think that's a bit harsh on Levy. I do believe he wants those young players to succeed too. He does measure sell on as well but thats just smart business. I'm sure he would love to get Orban for 30m euro and see him become the next Son/Bale/Modric. Chelsea don't deserve credit for their reckless spending. If scouted well you shouldn't need to spend so much on potential.

Hopefully this gets wrapped up ASAP, we’re lacking pace off the bench.
Sonny hasn't played a second up front in pre season and there is no striker on the bench.

Personally I'd like to see Son up there but I find it telling that even in Spain Son didn't play up there at all.

I think Ange wants a backup striker because of it and a kid like this could be a very clever way of getting back up plus a potential first choice of it goes well.

I'm struggling for a suitable response, i'm pretty sure you've made up your mind about Levy and Spurs and absolutely nothing can change that.
Yes my mind about Levy is that he is a fantastic business man but have no clue what so ever about football. And this will never change while he is in charge. Not going to derail this discussion any further, but history tells us that this Orban Signing if it happens has probaly a 90% chance to be like the other potential signings we have done :)

We need this wrapped up asap. 30-40m in todays market is a punt and we should be all over it. Already spent big on a central forward last summer. Let's get behind Richi and refrain from writing him off until he's had a proper chance!

Don’t think you can ever be too harsh on Levy/ENIC, but they aren’t wreckless business wise as you say. Not meaning to commend Chelsea on their hoovering up of the worlds best young talent as it is clearly done with two fingers up to FFP, but they are doing so as a direct first team investment rather than. 50/50 team/financial investment by Levy/ENIC.

Yep bang on. Really need a different profile who can play either wing, and Orban gives us another option to Richarlison and could explode.
You get the impression Orban would do well in this system. Requires more of a fox in the box type who can just sniff something out in tight spaces.

Saw something about the amount of goals Furuhashi scored for Celtic last year, and over 90% of them were inside the box. A CF in Ange’s system doesn’t appear to need to be as involved in build up play. It’s all about getting into the box, finding space, and getting a shot away, on target to work the keeper as a minimum.
Maybe that’s where Orban perhaps does fit the style. His highlights reel shows him tee up shots in tight spaces, but with venom and accuracy surprisingly.

We need a striker, but we really need a winger. If Perisic hadn’t done so well in pre season I’d say we needed two. Need serious pace added to this team.
