I still think we get this guy done, similar to Vdv it's all gone a bit quiet but he's been the one with most actual links and I just can't see us not buying at least one more player, that would be farcical.

Could very well be that we are waiting to see if any smaller clubs come to an agreement for Orban and then we come in and match. Let them do the negotiating.
Or Chelsea continue their spending bender and bid stupid amount and we lose out for taking so long

Paul O’Keefe is adamant we sign 2 more, possibly 3 but he says that depends on us pulling our fingers out.
And is always referring to Orban.

Apologies for posting an aggregator account but as it from a live chat I figured it be okay.

Personally I’m not completely convinced by David so I’m not overly upset about not going for him HOWEVER I find it shocking that €60 mil is deemed too expensive. Sort of puts into perspective what sort of targets we are looking at IF this is true if corse. And in general why would we look to sign players we don’t completely trust.

I am not one for saying just get this done, I'm sure we have our reasons for not pulling the trigger but I have to say I don't know why we are hanging about.
I guess it could be about clearing the decks but that doesn't make sense to me if we are going to do it anyway so maybe it is the possibility of a more experienced striker but I'm puzzled.

Does anyone think we DONT need another forward?

I'm not bothered about someone I've never seen but I would desperately like someone brought in.

Personally I'd spend the money on someone who can play anywhere across the front line as opposed to a specialist.

60m is definitely too expensive for David. And it's especially too expensive if 10-20m more gets you Vlahovic.

Is it expensive for David? He scored 24 in 37 last season. Like I said I have questions with him and I’m not sold but I’d 100% expect him to be valued at around that if not more.

My question being tho is it that €60 mil specifically for David is considered too much or €60 mil in general for any striker is considered too much. I read it as the latter hence my original point. If it’s just for David then I’m not so fussed as I mentioned even if that is probably an expected valuation.

Don’t think it’s that expensive when compared with 35/40 for Orban though.

I think the key phrase there is “don’t want to spend big on someone they don’t 100% trust.”

Which seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Probably trying to structure a deal that's not too dear on initial outlay but has a lot of achievable add ons. I'd imagine that takes a lot of negotiating.

I think we’d have wrapped this up by now if we were going to. I honestly think we are done for the window.

i think this too, the outgoings are proving too problematic I think. I mean it shouldn’t really be reliant on this, we have the money etc - and can surely shift them after we’v completed our business.
It’s just eerily quiet.

Lacazette scored 27 in Ligue 1 last season. Balogun scored 21.

I'm not saying he's a bad player but I don't think he's worth 60m

It does seem reasonable, but then you have to factor in that we’ve been negotiating the sale of our record goal scorer for months.
