Even if he's a bust it'll still probably be a better deal than NDombele.
Signing ME to a 5 year contract would be a better deal than Ndombele, and my knees and ankles crack every time I stand up these days.Even if he's a bust it'll still probably be a better deal than NDombele.
I’m 73, have had one knee replacement and need another, and was rubbish at football when I was younger, and I would be a better value signing than Ndombele.Signing ME to a 5 year contract would be a better deal than Ndombele, and my knees and ankles crack every time I stand up these days.
24 in 37 last season but 10 of them were penalties. In 2023 15 goals but 7 of them were penalties. It's another season when his form dips massively when there are serious talk about his transfer from Lille He's good, but wouldn't say he's worth 60m, more like 40m considering that's how much Wahi and Openda went and they had better season than him. Lille would ideally sell him this transfer window but no one is interested in that priceIs it expensive for David? He scored 24 in 37 last season. Like I said I have questions with him and I’m not sold but I’d 100% expect him to be valued at around that if not more.
He's not a striker?Chukwuemeka 6 week injury.
Chelsea will take him from under our noses no doubt.
Surely we're at the stage that he is either good enough or isn't24 in 37 last season but 10 of them were penalties. In 2023 15 goals but 7 of them were penalties. Doubtful, even they must realise you can't just keep replacing player with short term injuries with new players on 8 year contracts - they can't be that dumb (note: yeah, they probably are that dumb).Chukwuemeka 6 week injury.

plays as a forward, and they were after another forward anyway.......He's not a striker?
They may well buy him (I don't think they will) but I can't see Chukwuemeka having any bearing on the situation as they are completely different playersplays as a forward, and they were after another forward anyway.......
This makes no senseChukwuemeka 6 week injury.

My guess is that we're now at the point that we might as well wait it out until deadline day and see if any more opportunistic signings become available. Not to say that we should be doing any Levy specials, but it feels like there could be some possible player opportunities arise towards the end of the window that might not be so easily obtainable right now. Given that it makes sense to give Richi another run out or two then I reckon this is likely the strategy we're going with now, with the possibility that if we need to move quickly to secure Orban or someone we've already started negotiations with then we can do so in the meantime.I am not one for saying just get this done, I'm sure we have our reasons for not pulling the trigger but I have to say I don't know why we are hanging about.
I guess it could be about clearing the decks but that doesn't make sense to me if we are going to do it anyway so maybe it is the possibility of a more experienced striker but I'm puzzled.
I believe it could be about clearing the decks. I think who we get for the forward position is dependent on who goes and whether we need to buy homegrown. Whilst Orban won't need to be registered, we may still need one more HG and decide to go for Johnson of Forest instead to fill the quota. If that's the case, I doubt we buy both him and Orban.I am not one for saying just get this done, I'm sure we have our reasons for not pulling the trigger but I have to say I don't know why we are hanging about.

We need to move away from this strategy.
