It's a shame the International break has come when it has. We would have carried on playing brilliantly, I'm sure.Dont say it out loud just yet. We need to get a good run of games going before we start talking about it

This is as good a chance as we'll get. Publicly is maybe another matter, but if they're not talking about it privately why put on the shirt?
as much we all enjoyed smashing the saints and the manx, it would have been more profitable to spread the goals out over the barcodes and Everton games. We are not in the title running yet. We have bought 6 new players, all of which need to either/or find fitness/gel with the team, and when they're ready, might be in contention for the starting line-up (ie. a huge starting lineup turnover from last season). The out-and-out star signing is an unknown quantity. Last summer's star signing is only now starting to shine. We've wasted points in the opening games and we fluctuate between a goal scoring machine and a team that can barely get a goal in. The potential is high but the present unknowns are too many to announce us as a title contender.
The easier ones are the problem! We're built for the counter. Teams that sit back have troubled us for a while. No one seems to be defending well this season though so hopefully we'll fly out of the traps and put them away early.
We were awful, bit if Doherty and Dele put those 2 changes away. We win. All fine margainsYes we were dreadful against Everton but maybe that was the jolt everyone needed. Since then, certainly So'ton 2nd half onwards, we've looked excellent and more importantly improving.
And we played well against Newcastle, it was just one of those things.
Maybe it's good we've got a bad performance out the way so early on.
I was incredibly worried after Everton but the turnaround has been pretty astonishing. We look like a different team. And we've still got this Welsh fella to come into the side too.
Imagine if we finish second........... Behind Everton.

As a caveat to this: if we play regularly like we did against Man U, the chance to hit top 3 is definitely viableWe are not in the title running yet. I think I'll be just a tad but more cautious and state that I have a reasonable belief in avoiding relegation. As a caveat to this: if we play regularly like we did against Man U, the chance to hit top 3 is definitely viable
You risk-taking, neck-out-sticking, fool! It's far too early to say!I think I'll be just a tad but more cautious and state that I have a reasonable belief in avoiding relegation.
