With no real backup for Hugo Lloris this season at Tottenham, Fabio Paratici turned his attention to Italy, where Pierluigi Gollini was brought in on loan. Whether the Italian was expecting to play a lot isn’t clear, but the 26-year-old has seen his appearances come exclusively in cup competitions, as he has yet to feature in the Premier League.

The plan appeared to be for him to potentially replace Lloris as our number 1 once he left.

Lloris shows no sign of getting worse and has another 2 full seasons on his contract. Plus Gollini hasn't looked up to level to be a backup, let alone number 1.

I'd be very surprised if he's still here next season.

I see no sense at all in a non HG back up keeper. I'm surprised we never went after Sam Johnstone.

This is the benefit of loans with option to buy.
Yeah I’d be tempted to loan in another keeper next season.

Didnt we do that with the legend that was Cerny, at least at first?
