Go on 'ave a guess who I'd vote for?
Mind you I don't think we'll have to make this choice for to much longer.

Those stats mean very little - saves per game is far more about the defence playing in front of a goalie (hence the goalies from teams near the top of the league being lower down on the list).

Far more meaningfull stats would include "average shots on goal per goal conceded", "% of one-on-ones saved" & "% of aerial balls into box claimed"

For me, a fully fit Gomes should start with Carlo coming in if his form dips or he's injured.

Gomes could do with starting in europe as we'll need him ready for the CC Final where Cudicini is suspended.

Good to have the choice isnt it? :)

I would go for Gomes with the form he started to show before the groin strain.

Personally I think Gomes, but brilliant to have two top class keepers fighting it out.

I think it should be up to Gomes to win his place back, or for Cudicini to lose.

I'd stick with Cudicini for the time being

Gomes for me all the way, but it's great to have such a class option in Cudicini. I think he is one of the best deals the club has ever done.

I'm just glad that we have two keepers who will now be fighting for the no one spot, may the best man win.

Sod Gomes v Cudicini...I want to see Avram Grant v Luka Modric.

It would be like watching a live action version of DangerMouse v Baron Greenback :)

Just saw Redknapp on sky being asked who is his no.1. He gave it the "healthy competition" bollocks but if Cudicini is available for europe and has not been taken that would suggest very much that Redknapp views him as his No.1.

Very, very worrying.

I prefer Gomes and he should get the UEFA games and then the Carling Final to prove himself. Cudicini will get the Hull and Middlesborough games. I reckon 'arry prefers Cudicini. He is more comfortable on crosses but that's it for me. Gomes is more likely to make a super save and I think he'd have got us a draw at Bolton. However he'd probably have looked at fault at one of the goals and been blamed for us not winning! That's the problem with Heurelho. People only remember the things he gets wrong and they stick out. I remember the times he has saved us this season and they actually easily outweigh the bad days. So, strangely perhaps, I believe Cudicini to be a more reliable goalie but over the season I reckon Gomes would save us more points; and I also believe that Gomes will improve even more, 'arry just needs to keep the faith. It's good to have two very good goalies though...

I don't think Cudicini is more comfortable on crosses at all - in fact precisely the opposite -

the Bolton game exposed CC's weakness on crosses, which I believe was also known at Chelsea, may be wrong about that bit

it's precisely becuase I don't trust Cudicini on crosses I want gomes back for Hull

well seems CC will get his chance here's hoping he does a much better job than he did v bolton

although I want gomes to play - all that matters is the team so I sincerely wish that CC has a blinder, proves my doubts are groundless and hopefully keeps a clean sheet
