Can you guys recommend a good Spurs pub in central with decent sized screens? If not Spurs pubs then a neutral pub worth visiting. Ta :)

The Three Famous Kings in West Kensington is always pretty good. Not exactly central, but not exactly in the sticks either.

Thanks. I've been once before actually. Not quite as central as I'd like but definitely a good option.

Sports Cafe in Haymarket usually has a lot of Spurs for our games. If its still going that is. Good SC crowd in there the night we qualified for the Champions League.

Callaghans near Russell Square tube station. Not a great boozer, but there are plenty of TVs and one large screen. Atmosphere for big games can be decent.. Not a "Spurs" pub, but a good place to catch a game. The Rocket near on the Euston Rd is good, though tends to be full of away-dayers due to its proximity to Euston/Kings Cross.

The One Tun near Farringdon Station is very Spurs, but the atmos is hit and miss - closed weekends.

(Dougal - The Sports Cafe is a deeply unpleasant place to spend an evening imho. Seems the sort of place that's on the verge of erupting into spontaneous bouts of meaningless violence. Warm beer, cold staff, 99% male.)

The Sports Cafe has been an absolute shambles for years now!

I could go on for ages about the expensive drinks, wobbly tables, clueless staff, no air conditioning etc, but they are even crap at showing live sport:

- In pre-season last year there was a Spurs game on, but they refused to put on the commentary, preferring crappy euro-pop instead.
- During the Olympics they had a bunch of 'Visit Slovenia' posters in the way of the TVs.

If you happen to find yourself in that part of London, the Grosvenor casino just off Leicester Square is an excellent place to catch the footie - Sky Sports, good staff, cheap food and drink (for central London) and usually pretty quiet.

Rant over...

Really? I've never had that kind of feeling there and I've watched a good few games there. Even took the Wife when Spurs played Anorthesis (can't remember what they were called) on Valentines Day. Not for dinner, the food looks a bit bland.

Thanks dazzle. Are you literally in a casino or is there a separate bar area?

This is the area I need to be in. Looks like a decent pub too. Definitely one to consider thanks punky. (y)

The Green Man is probably your best bet in Soho, although last time I went in there they had removed most of the TV's from one side of the bar and it got very crowded. Good prices at the bar though and they usually have good drink promotions on.

The only guaranteed Spurs pub in Soho was the Star and Garter on Poland St. the landlord is a staunch Yiddo.... unfortunately due to some serious drunken celebrations from me and my mates during and after the 4-4 NLD game he took the screen down and vowed never to show football again!

The casino bit is downstairs - upstairs is nice bar area that does food. There is also a couch area which is great to watch sport on.

You don't ever have to gamble if you don't want to - although winning your beer money back is always gratifying!

Avoid all pubs in the Camden/Mornignton Crescent area. All the owners are complete wankers and full of chavvy wanker gooners and Chelsea fans. There's probably as many Spurs fans as them, but just really shit atmospheres and I hate going to pubs where the owners make you feel like you've put them out by ordering a pint.

I blame the landlord for his part time support! In fact next time i'm far gone and on one, i'm gonna waltz into that pub and remove the picture of Gazza taking 'that' free kick that he has on the wall by the side of the bar, he doesn't deserve to be surrounded by such greatness!

The pub round the back of kokos is alright actually, opposite the purple turtle. Last spurs game I saw in there was against arsenal and jack Whitehall (gooner) was in there with his mates, some of whom were spurs fans. Felt great celebrating with his spurs mates when rafa slammed the pen in :)
