Used to be a time we were good but soft. Spurs sides through the years were known for being brilliant football teams but with a sizeable soft underbelly. I cant think of a Spurs team even three to four seasons ago going to Cardiff and that hostile atmosphere, absolutely dominating the game and pulling off a consummate victory at the very last minute.

We are seeing a lot of good signs from AVB's squad - togetherness and man love, players playing for each other for the most part, a steely center midfield, a will to win, a bit of iron and a bit of silk in the skills department and most of all absolute domination in the possession stats. We are averging 60% in the majority of our games. That tells me that the tactics are paying off and this side doesnt have a glass jaw but a set of brass knuckles.

There used to be a story about Bill Shankly and Spurs visits to the Kop. He'd tell his team, you can relax next weekend, we are playing the Drury Lane Dancers on Sat'day. No more are we push overs. You can say goodbye to the Drury Lane Dancers. We play hard but fair and we take control of games by the scruff of the neck. We are getting the tradesman and the artisan balance just right. As a work in progress goes - I cant wait to see this all develop further and I have to say I am loving it!

Good post, hope you're right.
The team spirit shown at the goal was amazing.

It's a relief that we don't need Bale to win us games.
