Does anyone go watch a local grassroots club?

I am involved at a local Isthmian Ryman League club and go along most weeks, home and away and wondered if anyone else ventured into non-league football. I stopped going to Spurs regularly when the kids were born and since then only go a few times a season. I still have a passion for the game though and have been going locally for a few years now. The level of football is good, a lot less expensive and there is generally no queue for a beer :)

Anyone else regularly go to local grassroots games?

From round my gaff I took advantage of that Non-League day recently, and went to see Raynes Park Villa. Quite enjoyed it, and reminded me of my own playing time in ye old West Yorkshire league back in the day.

And they're proper league these days, but I've quite enjoyed seeing AFC Wimbledon making their way up through the ladder. If they get their new ground built back at Plough Lane I'd happily go along.

Over the years I have watched Dulwich Hamlet now and again (they fancy themselves a kind of non-league English St. Pauli which is quite embarrasing). The standard of football is OK. If there were a more 'real' football experience at a similar level south of the river I would go more often.

When I lived in Leeds I would go to Farsley Celtic which was great craic, especially as they were on the up at that point in time (even played York that season).

Growing up I would go to all of Darlington's home games at Feethams and still go and watch them when I go to see my family. Despite now not playing in Darlo itself (they are groundsharing with Bishop Auckland) and being non league now the atmosphere is ten times better than it ever was at the 'arena'.

Also used to go to Scarboro now and again with and ex girlfriend who was from theres old man.

Since I've moved up there from north London I've started going to see Hitchin Town a fair bit. It's really enjoyable and I go to Top Field now more than I go to the Lane. I've always thought I'd not enjoy watching another team as I wouldn't have that emotional attachment but I'm definitely a convert.

I've also recently started coaching one of the Hitchin Town kids' teams. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to get U10s to adopt a high energy pressing game.

They play my local team Bury Town on Saturday in the FA Trophy, they are well supported so should bring a few up to Suffolk.
