Yes we all love football and some have a passion for tennis, rugby, cricket but every now and then you stumble across a random sport that’s too good not to share.

This thread is to share the love of the great random sports from slam ball, chase or competitive wood chopping through to the world balloon championships.

These are what the Olympics should focus on

World Balloon Championships

The list of really shit things to have come out of the British public school system is an incredibly long one, with two of our last three Prime Ministers relatively prominent on it. Eton Fives, however, is a cracking game. It's basically just squash played with gloves rather than a racket, but in a weird court designed to replicate the external architecture of the chapel where the game was invented.

There aren't many sports where one of the highlights can be captioned 'lovely controlled lob over the buttress' and, for that alone, it gets my vote.

Anyway, if the local fives courts are booked around your way, then may I suggest this equally popular sport which, like fives, also evolved in the playground.

Pro Kabbadi.

Used to be shown on Sky Sports a few years ago. I enjoyed it whenever I watched it once I understood the rules and how it was played.

Ahhh used to love Kabbadi, a staple of Trans World Sport on channel 4 growing up in the 90’s. Looks like it’s far more professional now than the old mud patches it used to be played on.

Loved Fives at school, we had two courts. Although we mainly played with a tennis ball and used our feet.
Last man standing, up to 30 boys taking turns to get the ball over the first line in our version.

Open Gates (or British bulldog) is the best. I don't know if it's a sport haha..
