Patson Daka vs diallo is no comparison.

daka is the next big thing and would add, rapid pace and deadly cool finishing and play with Kane.

diallo would be more a plan b type of player.

The Daka link seems pretty tenuous doesn't it? I can only seem to see the link on Twitter - the press say he's going to Liverpool or Arsenal.

I'd like him from what little I've seen, but it seems (at this point) mainly wishful thinking on our part

With those stats it needs to be caveated by the fact that Diallo plays in the toughest league by far of the three and is the only one not playing for one if the top sides in his league. As such, he faces better defenders and goalkeepers in more organised defences, he will receive the ball less often and in worse areas, and his creative suppliers will be less effective.

Change the criteria then to the Europa league, or Champions League, then you you can make a counter argument the other way. I like Diallo, I like all 3 of them, but I think we get to caught up in or frown upon other leagues of lesser abilities. All 3 players have the raw ability and are producing amazing stats in their respective leagues at young ages, Daka and Malen are only 21.

You can only judge by the stats and what you see of the players, so it is impossible to get a like for like comparison, however we must not be put off, and think actually we can improve on these players attributes and convert them to be able to do what they are doing now for us, regardless of what league and opponents they are up against.

Don't know if this is the right thread but I think there is a possibility that Maxi Gomez being JJ's under the radar striker. If it's Diallo, I don't think JJ needs to keep it so secret as it is reported everywhere now. Gomez is a Target Man type striker and aged only 24. We were linked to him when he was still at Celta Vigo. Valencia is being a supermarket this summer and Valencia's owner Lim has a close relationship with Mendes. It needs to be done secretly as we don't want the bargain price attracts a bidding war.

I wouldn't have thought so, hes only been at Valencia for a season and has a 140m euro release clause.

Linked with Milik again this morning in the media. I wonder whether we are overly critical of Levy because we apparently lost Wilson, lost Watkins, didn’t bid for a Eze. Perhaps he will spend money but none of them were wanted by Jose. Is he keeping his powder dry to get the real targets later in the window.
Perhaps I’m wearing rose tinted specs.

patson daka is 21. diallo is 25. that's how i read herc's latest. 1 will cost 11m but we've prob got a free run, 1 will cost 25m+ but if he's as good as he looks then there'll be a pile of suitors once any interest is declared.
Buy a highly promising young player for a small fee and turn him into a star or buy a star for a huge sum and seem him fail.
There have been instances of both .

Surely has to be our last option, would be a very underwhelming signing.
I think he's underrated by some on here. Similar to my opinion of Sangare. Hard to judge the best player on a very bad team. That said for a top 6 fighting PL side he is probably the biggest gamble of those we have been linked with.

Certainly feels like our fall back option, which the player is probably quite happy to agree to. It also knowing Spurs means he's probably the most likely!

Any player we sign from outside the premier league carries risk. You just don’t know till they’re through the door.

The only underwhelming thing would be signing nobody. Yes he isn't as flashy as others we're linked to, but he's 10000000x better than having no one behind Kane.

We need the right striker though. We can't have another Janssen/Nkoudou/N'jie situation where if he's no good we struggle to shift him.
