i was there. fantastic moment. we got a lift down for 2 gooners that we know that were going to the game and all we got on the way there was how there gonna beat us etc etc. needless to say it was the SWEETEST car ride home

What a day that was, great memories, when we got back from Wembley we drove around North London with Chas & Dave blasting out the windows.

For those too young to have been there, I really hope we do those bastards like that again so you can share in the sheer joy it brought us.

We sure have, and wasn't it grand Dougs. :grin:

But in comparison and I can only comment on my experience the recent victory doesn't come close to that semi at Wembley. It was the first semi to ever be held at Wembley, it was the first time we'd ever met them in an FA cup semi and having beat them as major underdogs we stopped them doing the double. Add in the mess we we're in off the field and the fact that the goon scum had the likes of Adams playing and to me are still the goon side I hate the most, it was just fucking great to do them over.

We need that passion in our squad now. How much he wanted to play in that game, and to be a winner, you just can't buy that.

:clap: Great post! The fact we stopped them doing the Double made a fantastic day even sweeter. I was on holiday in Cyprus for the Final, so that was my Final. (Watched the whole 120 mins my Mum had recorded for me when I got back though). :wink:

Gazza is and always will be a Spurs Legend. Eat your heart out SAF, you never got to sign him and he chose us! :bowdown:

I remember standing next to a Goon in the Video dept. of WHSmith at Wood Green, me looking at the Spurs vid, he at the Arse one, and us exchanging glances, as I pitied him having to watch and rewatch Ee Aw and Co enact another off side appeal. Such scintillating viewing he had in store. :rofl:

I still have the tape in the house of the semi and the final against Forest. What a day that was, Gazza gets wrecked, someone pushes Mabutt out of the wall and Pearce drives the ball through the gap left, we miss a pen but then the wonderful Des Walker wins the cup for us. Those two games are engrained on my mind. What it would be to get to an FA cup final again. Thanks Gazza, he was immense on that cup run...

I'm not saying you can make players have the will to win, but you can buy players who already have it.
