Wouldn't have been so happy if he'd got a red card for that dreadful tackle. Enthusiasm is great but he needs to keep a lid on it.
This is a very good point. A lot of running and eagerness with very little tangible output. Excellent crosser though. Needs to mature a bit. Also, I find him a little irritating (maybe I should have saved that for the amnesty thread). All that dropping deep to collect the ball is all very well, but he tends to just pass it backwards.
No defender is being pulled out of position either.
It is a lot of effort for nothing.
But his runs into the box are effective - he really wants to score.
Headless chicken quotes seem to be the words of choice to describe Lewis Holtby. Now lets be fair and clear he is far from that, a player that effortlessly gets about the pitch takes up both good defensive positions but more impressively finds attacking spaces to assist.
I might be wrong about him or maybe I don't see what seems to be a majority of posters who don't rate Holtby as a productive player. I have to admit whenever seeing Holtby play I'm impressed...Imo we should make more use of him in our starting 11.
